Weight and HP values are from the 2015 Mustang Horsepower / Torque Figures and Weight Released! thread.

V6 MT: 3526 / 300 = 11.75
V6 AT: 3530 / 300 = 11.76

I4 MT: 3532 / 310 = 11.39
I4 AT: 3524 / 310 = 11.36

V8 MT: 3705 / 435 = 8.51
V8 AT: 3729 / 435 = 8.57

Now take a look at this Autoblog article:

Autoblog Top Performance Car Power To Weight Ratios Under 100K, 50K, and 25K

Mustangs win all three categories with the GT500, GT and V6 winning their respective categories.

Look at the numbers above and compare them to the numbers from the article:

'14 V6: 11.479
'14 GT: 8.614

At 11.75, the '15 V6 is higher than the '14, but the '15 I4 beats it handily at 11.39. Nice!! Even better, at 8.57 the '15 GT easily beats the '14. No idea what the '16 SVT numbers will be, but at 3845 / 662 = 5.808 the '14 GT500 will be hard to beat.

I know there's more to a well-rounded car than just acceleration, but couple these power to weight ratios to the improved suspension and the new Mustang is going to be a force to be reckoned with within its price range.

Yep for sure one of the most overlooked "numbers" that no one seems to be focused on. People obsess over HP too much when driving dynamics of a well rounded ride is about so much more.

Yep I call it "bang for the buck" as well. Compare the power/weight ratio vs. the price and Ford wins hands down. :)
