I heard today was supposed to be the day..
John says:
Ok. Do you know of an anticipated ETA for the Track Key yet? Would it be after Power Pack 3 is released at the end of October or could it be before then?
Tom says:
10/1/16

Right from the horse's mouth.

Sorry to inform......not 100% on what they will do for the 2015/16 but this could be bad news.

Hello Ford Performance Parts Ford Dealers,

The purpose of this note is to advise that the following TracKey Parts Numbers are no longer available.

Note that these part numbers were Ford Dealer only as they required special equipment and training to install TracKey.

M-14204-MBTKA CALIBRATION TRACKEY BOSS 302 2012-13

M-14204-MGTTKA CALIBRATION TRACKEY MUSTANG GT 2014.5

Background:
Software enhancements to FCSD Service Tech Tools resulted in the incompatibility of the FPP TracKey Ford Dealer Service Bay download process.

Considerable resources were been applied in an attempt to overcome the situation. After several week we have been unable to rectify the situation.

As a result the above part numbers are cancelled effective immediately.

Mike says:
Hello Robert. My name is Mike how can I help you?
Robert says:
Hi Mike, when will the track key be released for s550 mustangs?
Mike says:
They're still developing it. By the end of the year is what they had originally stated and I have not heard anything different at this point.
Robert says:
Ok, will it be the same tune as the power pack 1 calibration or have more features?
Mike says:
I can't say much about details, but it will be different than the power packs
Robert says:
Ok thanks, any chance of auto rev matching?
Robert says:
for manual transmitions
Mike says:
We've incorporated that into the no lift shift strategy for the power packs, so it is certainly conceivable.
Robert says:
Cool, thanks. One last question are there any plans to have a transmission or differential cooler available for mt82 transmission?
Mike says:
We don't have any plans at least at the present time. Are you having issues?
Robert says:
I have just heard of the differential overheating in PP cars on track, I have not experienced it since in the 2015 there is no differential sensor to my understanding
Mike says:
Yeah that would be news to me. It's tough to say how hard they were driving, ambient temps, etc, but just like any track car....it would be something to look at if driving it hard on the track with no cooler.
Mike says:
Differential cooler should be an easy enough piece to add
Robert says:
Agreed, thanks Mike
Mike says:
You bet! Take care!

^^^ lol to the above response on coolers.

They were very close to adding them for production on the PP cars and chose not to for cost reasons. I'm told it was about $300 a car. My argument was always that the majority of PP owners would pay an extra $300 for that. They were also in trouble on weight targets so that wouldn't help.

Ha...don't know what to believe anymore. This guy says it's been in the plans all the time to release at the end of the year, whereas other techs at fp have been saying October. Ugh

Isaac says:
Hello EARL My name is Isaac how can I help you?

EARL says:
What is the status on the 2015+ Mustang GT Track Key?

Isaac says:
We are not going to do a Track Key style calibration on the 15+ for the for foreseeable future. Just the three power packages

EARL says:
So the previously mentioned track key in the current Ford Performance catalog was cancelled?

Isaac says:
Due to the nature of the key fob, the challenges of having a specific key coded to activate one tune vs the stock tune have proven difficult.

EARL says:
Is there an equivalent procal type of setup from FP to achieve the same thing as what the track key would have been?

Isaac says:
Many of the track key type features are in all the power upgrade packages

EARL says:
What about the level 3 power pack? Is there a release date?

Isaac says:
December is expected time for availability

EARL says:
OK

EARL says:
Thanks!!!

Isaac says:
Sure thing!

Nope, not going to happen...

Well that's some bull...

"We're going to give you a key that does this.. that... and the other thing!!!"

"Oh, no we actually cancelled that and now made it available for purchase at a ridiculously marked up price because Ford!"

with the power packs out why dont you guys who are worried about warranty just pick one of those?
That will have to be the Plan B. I was just under the impression the track key would have more/different features than the power packs.
