12v cig outlet under radio

Is it possible to remove the little cap? or do I need to clip it off or something. Thinking of installing a permanent mini size piece in it, and would like the lid removed, haven't had time to try and pry it off, so any info beforehand would be great!

Can you show me how yours looks? Curious if you cut off the whole little bracket thingy or what not.

Just got this new little charger, super small and slim I really dig it a lot.

The lid doesn’t close fully, so gonna chop it off later

I just snapped it off at the hinge. Left the surround on the socket.
The rim of the charger hides everything.
The usb I have is almost identical to yours.
