For the life of me, I can't figure out what people's obsession with this overflow tank is.
Me either. Its almost as bad as wanting a digital speedo.

Hey! I used to live in Hawaii, that's where all my problems started. :p

You're not the only one. All my problems are here.

Even if I didn't like chrome (I do, old school), I would do something better than a 2$ can of spray paint on my brand new 40k+ car.

I happen to think that you're newfangled look of primer and missing body panels and ricer melon launching fart cans and wheels that look like someone milled a Dayton out of a block of aluminum are ugly as hell. Oh snap! I guess everyone has their favorite style. Rustoleum sprayed all over my car just isn't mine.
Sigh

I'm entering my car in a show this weekend, and with all of the other engine components dipped in Kryptek "Raid" and "Typhoon" camo, plus GLOSSY CLEAR COAT on top of the transfer prints, the reservoir looked out of place and I didn't want to spend $200 on an aftermarket one. SO since I already had the plastidip AND glossifier in stock, I used it ;-)

"To each his own."

Jeez, what happened to your air box and coil covers?
Kryptek "Raid" and "Typhon" Camo.

This is a my company show car. Looks awesome in person.

Whatever naysayers, I'd say OP did pretty well here. You can't fault him for using a little dip to make everything match. Why Ford continues to put that off colored grenade under the engine bay when almost every other component/part is black completely eludes me.

Plastidip WILL hold up to the heat. As a side gig, I build custom PCs for people in the local area and experimented with applying red Plastidip to a pair of nVidia GTX 780 Ti's. The results were amazing and the customer was thrilled that I was able to get his graphics cards to match his motherboard and case lighting set up. The only downside was that the cards ran 3 degrees Celsius higher than an unmodified card, and I offset that with a modified fan profile. 1 year on and the dip still looks as good as when I applied it.

Also hating on this cheap mod, when other forum members are paying $150 for replacement tanks is just distasteful. As another member has stated, people put this stuff on exotic cars. There isn't anything exotic about a Mustang.

I think it's an improvement OP, its a sore thumb ford decided to leave right smack in front, your eyes automatically get pulled right to it, would of loved to have been in the meeting in which all the ford design guys agreed on this alien ova from hell, and how they came to the conclusion that this was awesome looking lol.
