Been reading a lot about 1/4 times, 0-60, and mods to improve both. What struck me is that it seems the times should be better even on a stock car. 430 hp in a 3,800 lb car should be faster imho. Are the relatively slow times due to poor traction at launch or is the hp:weight ratio the bigger factor?

Seems to me this should be a 4.0 sec 0-60 car with the usual intake, header, exhaust, and tune bolt-ons assuming traction is reasonable. Looking forward to your opinions.
Bolt-on mustang vs tesla p90d . I think the tesla p90d is 2.? 0-60 [ame]

"11's are fairly impressive"

15 years ago an 11 second bolt-on car would have been mind blowing.

10 years ago it would have been stunning.

Now for base automatic GT's to be running very low 12's and high 11's with basic exhaust and intake bolt-on's and a tune? That says tons about how far cars have come.

As a comparison note? The fastest of the classic muscle cars, even on slicks, were lucky to get into the high 12's stock.
