What rpm do you launch from, assuming dry track on P Zeros, to get best time?

Ask in the US section, because I've never experimented like this as I value my clutch and transmission.

I essentially just let the clutch out smooth fast with 1200-1500rpm and once out floor it or even just pull away normally no different than normal and floor it.

For sure launching at high RPM and slipping the clutch loads would make it faster, as would no doubt using LC effectively.

Check US section or ask there. :)

I do know Alan at Pumabuild car felt hugely quick off the line the way he does it, but he has never bothered with timing but he pulses the throttle with clutch in and just lets the clutch out on the pulse and floors it, probably takes some practice though.

See when you use launch control ,what does it have you rev it at? I havent used it yet and i am wondering if it helps ?

I'm fitting some eibach's soon , hoping that might help a fraction too but in my humble opinion for us amateurs its all about the tyres at launch and getting that power to the ground with minimal slip/tramp.(Michelins soon hopefully then the other stuff )

Only reason im bothered about this is 2 0f my cousins have been giving it the big i am with their 2017 Golf R and porsche 718 boxter S, at 50 i should know better , but we've all got that competitive edge and i know we will end up having a little tester day soon. :ford: rules

Those cars are faster to 60 especially if they are twin clutch auto. When I was testing a Boxster S all launches were 4.4-4.5s consistently on the PDK, no drama piece of cake. Manual version was around 5s

Once rolling particular over 60 the Mustang is quicker but those new 718's are surprisingly quick would be close.

I only managed a frankly embarrassing 6.3 seconds to 60 on my way to work. Doesn't look like I'm going to be able to better it for a week due to rain :(

Out of interest are folks tripping the timer in second gear or doing a change to third? It all happens a bit quick but 60mph seems to be near the red line in second.

I've had a couple of goes, and both in the 6's:doh: massive wheel spin seems to be the culprit, but it was certainly entertaining:headbang:

Well based on that Eco>GT ;)! To be honest, the car's IRS has a fair amount of issues causing a lot of hop, but also the power through said rears doesn't help so causes a lot of spinning up. Got to get a decent launch to get the car moving. (p.s ran high 5's in mine on the weekend, but it has Steeda's IRS pack and lighter alloys - hoping to get to low 5s with better launches/weather)
