4.7 FACTORY TIRES PP AOTO TRANNY MAPERFORMANCE PHASE 1.5 AND HAVE BACKED IT UP WITH SEVERAL 4.8.

Only 4.7? MAP 1.5 system numbers have more wtq than a GT and nearly the same whp as a gt, but the Eco is about 200lbs lighter. GT's are getting 4.5 0-60. What am I missing?? How do we get the eco under 4.5?

Where that torque is made and how flat the curve.

I currently ride a Honda CTX700 motorcycle. I have a good friend who has a Kawasaki ZX6R. I have 44 lb-ft of torque, he has 52. But up to 30 MPH I pull away from him - and up to 60 he can't catch me. It's only past that speed when he finally starts pulling away.

Why? I have 90% of my peak torque from 2200 RPM to 6500 RPM (redline). He's got nothing until he's well over 7000 RPM. So he's constantly short-shifting to try to get to a torque level higher than mine - and I have gobs from essentially idle.

A GT is incredibly torquey across its entire powerband - there is no spooling up, no delay in delivery. It's just there. That aids IMMENSELY in launching and 0-60 times. Given our torque really starts to peak over 3000 RPM, and the GT is deep in it by 2500 RPM, it makes sense they would still launch a bit harder than we would.

Weight and peak HP would be more important at the big end of the strip - after you got up and moving past 60-70 MPH. Less weight, more HP - you can keep increasing your velocity in the face of wind resistance. But down on the launch - it's all about wide torque power bands and delivery.

That's still extremely close to GT 0-60, but you cant just look at peak numbers you have to look at the power band. and we are talking about bolt on tuned EB vs stock GT, a bolt/tuned GT will easily do 0-60 in 4 seconds or below.

Thanks nihil and shanghai. I was under the impression that a tuned eco had a lot of low end tq. Which is why i thought 0-60 would be faster. ill have to take a closer look at the gt curve.

You are correct only 4.7 0-60 that was taking of at almost at nothing no spool up nothing with the new tune and 32 more whp and 20 pounds of tq more spinning a good amount in 1st I have ran 4.8's 0-60.

Even his pic (2stangs) on his profile shows a 5.0 on the side of his car... I think he either got the wrong forum or just wants to brag about what $6,000 more buys you....

lol  Even if it is the V8 it should be faster than 5.0 seconds 0-60.

I know ;) But he is running 3.15s so that makes a difference.
Still, he should do better than that, my tuned Eco does 4.8... And still loses to stock gts, which should do 4.6 or so from the factory. 4.5 with the larger gears.
