ADMIN UPDATE:

Our friends at Gibson have told us that the dyno they performed (below) was done on a Dynojet chassis dyno with a manual transmission GT. Exhaust system is a 3" catback with an X-pipe that utilizes their superflow mufflers, comes with 4.5" intercooled tips (available in black ceramic or polished finishes). We have asked them for clarification on which gear the car was run on, octane, ECU reset, cool down time, etc. Will update if they provide more details.

Their exhaust system will be on dealer shelves before the cars hit dealership lots. We'll be doing a giveaway contest on the forums soon, for one of their exhaust systems, so look out for that thread.

that's a great mod for the add'tl horsepower. when I put my Roush Stage III on my 12' , I asked for some kind of exhaust mod to open it up and was told there's no good reason to do that

Is this for an axleback exhaust? Seems a bit high. I would love for it to be true. Green apples compared to red apples, kinda reminds me of 2005 when the S197 came out. Way too many axlebacks were claiming high gains when in fact they probably added nothing. I know my FRPP stingers added an incredible sound but added nothing to trap speed.

We shall see.

More questions than answers with that graph. 2015 or '11-14 5.0? Auto or manual? If manual was that 5th gear(1:1)? Why is the torque number so much lower than HP? SAE/STD? What exactly was changed for the 32hp gain? No catback has ever offered that much of a gain on a Coyote that I've ever seen.

NICE FIND!!! Stock manual 2014 averages 360 hp and 350 torque depending on weather and altitude. I wonder if this is auto or manual?

Oooooo can any of you photo shop gurus find a stock 2014 Dyno and lay it over this graph?

That's how it is with EVERY new car. As soon as it hits the market, vendors galore have dynos claiming 10, 20, 30 hp gains with "just" an exhaust or "just" an intake. A few months later, independent dynos show no appreciable gains.

It's easy to manipulate a dyno to your benefit. :tsk:

No doubt as only long tube header back exhaust can get those numbers.

The dotted line is a stock S550 GT, right? I'm not impressed, a little confused even. Looks like its peak WHP figure is around 355. Assuming the usual 15% loss, that puts it a hair under 420. I don't know what I was expecting, but I figured this car would be underrated. Huge gains from a simple (?) change of exhaust though!

Resonator deleted and an X-pipe catback installed. A catback nets 30+ WHP? Sounds too good to be true.

Someone here said that a solid axle has less loss than an independent one.

32hp gain from a catback? That has to be an anomaly. I wonder if the first run was heat soaked or something.
