Nice! I think this is the first time we've seen completely under the car. Looking forward to tonight's pics!

Not liking the fact that the mufflers are part of the entire exhaust system on the ecoboost.... Axle back exhaust will require a hacksaw as a tool for install now...

That's how the ST is... It's not that bad, it just sucks that the stock exhaust is basically trash after that.

Also, does anyone see the oil pan drain plug? I see the filter's in a decent place, but I can't make out the drain plug. I'm glad they kept the underbody panels to a minimum... It's a real annoyance of mine with the ST. Oil changes would take half the time if it weren't for those damn panels.

Another Ecoboost Pro

You don't have to swing down the front aero pan to access the Oil Filter like you do on a 2011-14 3.7L or 5.0L and drain plug is real close to filter so one drain pan will catch the draining oil as well as the filter oil.

Also like that the filter hangs down (not straight forward like on the 11-14 V6/GT), so you can PRE-FILL the new element too.

If the aero pan is the same as the V6 & GT, it looks like you can drop the whole thing down. On the 2011-14, you need two drain pans if you want to do drain and change the filter at the same time ... may be able to get away with just one drain pan on a 2015 V6 / GT depending on how close the drain plug is to the filter (and how big of a pan you've got).

Is the car on it's side? Looks like if from the backgrounds of the photos.

Would love to see where the intercooler is, and what it looks like.

I See the Filter at the Top Right (Yellow Arrow) which would be behind the Left Front Wheel. I Believe the Oil Drain Plug will be On the Right Side of the Pan (Red Arrow) Both of which are Behind the Cross Member as well as Behind the Underbody Front Pan.

I have to say I'm very impressed with how Flat the Overall Bottom of the Car is. It looks like tge Engineers paid quite a bit of Attention to Tucking Everything Up into the Underbody for Better Aerodynamics.

This is the Guard EB convertible with 50th anniversary appearance package as it was presented at Mustang Alley today in Ferndale. It was the only car on its side.

The driveshaft is a 2-piece unit.

Very interesting... I'd been under several of the new GTs at the press events, but not yet a convertible. That bolt-on brace and crossmember (convertible only) explains the kink in the exhaust system that is so apparent on the hardtop models. Otherwise the bends are good and the radices are pretty good. It will be interesting to see what the aftermarket can do with an exhaust for the EB.

Tampa I think you are wrong on the drain plug location ... pan is cast for the two locations but it looked to me that that is the FWD location and the plug is actually in the other location pointed towards the back.

When you jack up the front end the rear plug would be the lowest point.

I had some wireless access problems last night and could not post other photos. I have a bunch more that I will try to post by tomorrow evening (or tonight if I don't get back home too late and am not pooped out from the travel).

Keep in mind that the vast majority of customers never modify the exhaust. Going with a completely welded system like this reduces the part count and the chances of clamps corroding or coming loose to cause rattles that will lead to customer complaints. While this will be an annoyance for those that do want to mod the exhaust, it will be a benefit for most customers and will reduce warranty claims for Ford.
