Just curious if anyone has taken on the task of converting an EB or V6 over to a V8 using a donor drivetrain or vehicle?

Has anyone documented the process?

If so, what are the critical components?
Engine (longblock)
Engine accessory brackets?
Transmission bell housing (auto or manual)
Clutch assembly (if manual)
Driveshaft?
Radiator (or is same rad used between all models)?
Engine harnesses?
Engine mounts?
Engine computer?
Trans computer?

What components are the same or do not need to be updated between the vehicle types?

If there's links or online info, please respond with hyperlinks. Yes, it's easier just buying a GT or Shelby - but engine swaps in Mustangs has occurred since inception... :)

Thanks!

It would actually be cheaper to trade it in for a gt. Your talking 7 to 8 grand on the low end to swap.

Everything on your list as well as headers and exhaust. You would need access to a Ford IDS to put in the software settings for all the different modules as well.
I haven't heard of anyone that has done a swap in a S550. This is most likely because it is not worth the effort.

Would a Ford IDS really be necessary if all of the proper modules were moved over from the donor to the vehicle recipient?

I would imagine any module or harness from the donor engine bay would be needed, correct? I can't imagine that the body harness after the firewall is greatly different?

Keep the thread up and the replies are appreciated.
