Sync 3 coming to Europe

No word on when the Mustang gets it, though! :(

Ford is apparently launching the Sync 3 connected car system this summer not only in the US, but also in Europe. The voice-activated 8-inch infotainment center can easily find establishments for you -- all you need to do is press a button and say "I need a coffee" or "I need gas petrol." And since the automaker baked both Android Auto and Apple Car Play support into the system, you can pair it with either an iPhone or an Android device.

Ford has added five additional European languages* to Sync 3's knowledge bank in preparation for its debut. The company has also installed localized versions of Emergency Assistance, so drivers and passengers can initiate emergency calls in the country's own language. Sync 3 will initially be available in Europe aboard the Mondeo, the S‑MAX, the Galaxy and eventually, the Kuga SUV. It will make its first appearance in the continent on the new Kuga at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next week.

(*The system's European languages are: Czech, Danish, Norwegian, Polish (including voice control), Swedish (including voice control), Dutch, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Turkish and U.K. English.)

I'm happy with Sync 2 as it will be the same on my Mondeo DD and my Mustang.

If we'd never heard of Sync 3 we'd all be happy.

It will be interesting to see if they get it into the 2017 Model year mustang or whether it wont be until the 2018 ones.

Guess they will prolly continue use up the left over stock of sync 2 modules to keep costs down on euro versions, especially RHD versions.

Now, here's a weird one, Rob, but you weren't at the Tot Hill McDonald's off the A34 near Newbury yesterday afternoon, were you?

Your Volvo looks just like one I spotted there! Looks like you even have the same "Prancing Moose" on the front wings!!

Ha, this could be my friends car, that'd be, if it had a carbon bonnet and a gigantic yellow prancing moose on the front bonnet (Has the same in small on the side wings).

There is (shouldn't be) no such thing as leftover stock. Parts are normally delivered to the plant on an as-needed basis.

Where, where is this covered in another thread? Had a search and there were a few Sync3 threads, couldn't find any with European Sync3 window stickers though. A link perhaps?

I think he just means the window sticker shows sync3 (and a few other things we're not getting) but it's qualified by the big emboldened notice about specs for export markets being different.
