Is it significantly better? A dealer has the exact car I'm looking for minus the Premier trim. Worth it to just pick this one up?

Was anyone on the fence about ordering it and went one way or the other and regretted it later?

Thanks!

There are really three main things, the dash is a little nicer (stitched tops), the seats have a softer leather and contrast stitching and the doors have soft touch at the top. I have it because it came with the 50th anniversary package, and I was planning to order it if I did not get the 50th package, but IMO it is not a make or break. The softer seats will probably not last as long, they do seem to stretch a bit more than the non-premier trim. Your call, but I would probably go drive it and if you are happy with it just the way it is, pull the trigger.

I think the premier accents package is definitely worth it fort he price it costs

It's like one of those less known options but it dresses up the interior beautifuly

Premier trim is a great buy and glad I got it. The dash, seats, and door trims all tie it together. It should be noted: it's not just upper door trim is soft touch, but the inserts are different as well.

But, if you can, go sit in both. You don't want to make a decision you'll regret just for instant satisfaction. If you know you'll be happy without, go for it. Otherwise wait.

Plus it's not always uniform at the plant anyways. My non-premier premium GT got contrast stitched door cards (white stitched full leather) which I believe are premier trim. Some people have gotten mixed and matched shift and e-brake boots too.

There's a long debate if the seats are any different (besides the extra row on contrast stitching on the bolsters) and there's been no definitive proof either way in terms of the material being any different.

All of the seats are contrast stitched, you just get more of it on premier (if that makes any true difference other than look)

You can't go wrong for $400, but you likely won't miss it either if the car you want is on the lot without it. I've sat in premier trim cars and I dont miss it at all having the boots and dash with black stitching rather than gray contrast (but I also dont have OCD either)

if i am correct the white stitching is the regular trim, the silver stitching with ebony (or redlin/yellow jacket) is the premium.

another thing to consider is some people who have high heat and sun exposure had dash bubbles but im not sure if that is credited to the premium trim or not.

I ordered it with mine as it seemed worth it for the price.

I think it's actually light gray, but it's all the same color unless you got redline or yellowjacket.

I like in South FL and have no dash issues, but I use a shade visor as everyone should. I dont think the material is different, just the stitching.

But OP is asking to take the car on the lot which is otherwise what he wants. I would say yes, he wont miss the premier per se. It's not THAT big of a deal if the car is on the lot already and otherwise exactly what he wants. May even get a better price if they want to move it off the lot (depending how long it's been sitting there)

I felt it was much nicer than the std interior & let's face it, you spend your time inside the car !! Leather is definitely different (not just the stitching) & the binnacle stitching is a subtle, but nice way to break up the sea of black plastic on the dash.

For me, I'd rather wait & get what I want then settle & take what's there today. I've never really happy the times I've settled without it being what I wanted - but then, I'm probably defective - LOL.

beware, premier trims have dash bubbling issues, search the forum. You pay for an upgrade and get a headache instead.

I think it's worth the upgrade price. My car sits in the sun and cold everyday and I have yet to see any bubbling. The car is a year old now. I'm sure it's a very insignificant population who have had problems. Glad I added it to my order at the last minute. Small price to pay for something that makes the car feel a lot more upscale.

But the question OP has is would you take a non-premier trim off the lot of wait 8 weeks min for another; considering it's getting toward the end of the model year.

They may be willing to negotiate that on the lot car a lot more to get it off the lot before the changeover to 2017 shortly here.

My 2016 has Premier Redline which is really nice, softer leather seats and the stitching, plus the matching door inserts. But I topped it off with the 401A package. And I think they are both items I wouldn't want to do without. I know there are supposed Audiophiles who will swear the 401A sound is like fingernails on a chalkboard but to my ears its great and I don't have to fiddle with it or mix and match components. Sorry to Hijack your thread but since I bought mine to be an Interstate Cruise Missile being comfortable inside is Job One.
