Corsa Sport Axleback with UPR H Pipe Review, Pics and Vids

Howdy, I just finished the install on this yesterday. I took a couple of vids as well but have to put them up on YouTube I guess. Meanwhile I have attached some pics. So far I am extremely pleased. I got to hear the Sport AB alone the day before and it sounded very good, but "muffled" because of the stock resonator. Once the H pipe went on though, holy hell what a difference! It became much louder, deeper, burbly and metallic, with just the right amount of hollowness for my ears. I love the idle, there is very little drone and its just sick. I couldn't be happier.

I'd like to give a huge shout out to Jayman @ Hypermotive for his assistance, pricing, and customer service. It was unsurpassed.

Also, Muffin Muffler in Austin, TX kicks ass. They made me a custom piece of SS piping, installed the H pipe, straightened out the AB, and welded everything for me in about 2 hours for $175.

probably hard to tell on video but doesn't sound too much different from double x. of course that was an interior sound clip too in and not outside the car except for startup clip.

No youtube yet but there are links to the dropbox where anyone can download them. I'm trying to get some work done lol and I am but one man with a cellphone. I have another video coming soon, but its also from the inside. I need to get with someone to assist with better exterior vids.

I agree it does sound similar to the double X. Not identical though. I will have to listen again and do a side by side comparison.

Thanks again for the review, pics and video!! I do think they sound very similar to one another (dbl X and h pipe). But in the end, it sounds incredible

So this is pure vanity but I have to post it. I just dropped my son off at school. The parking lot is circular and has an incline, and with the number of cars, stop and go, there is time for a bit of careful clutch work so you don't roll back into the car that is only an inch behind you. You don't need to park, because there are student volunteers, parents, and teachers that get your kid out of the car. Anyhow, when I came rolling up, every single one of them looked my way, waving and giving thumbs up. All but my next door neighbor who was scowling. He drives a Malibu and I had the misfortune of renting one of those a few weeks back, so I understand the hating. idk, maybe Corsa makes a catback for the Malibu I can recommend him?

I will add that if I had heard it in person before hand, I would have opted for something slightly quieter, if I could get the same sound, but I have 0 regrets. This thing is awesome.

That sounds awesome! I'm torn on which to get. The corsa sport or the touring. I already have a mrt h pipe. The sport sounds a bit loud. Maybe the touring is a little tamer. How is the cabin noise?

Nice, I too was very curious about the h-pipe sound. I agree it's very similar to the double x so I'm not at all disappointed in my choice

Cabin noise is mostly nonexistent unless you want it to be. Then it singe. I would guess its completely nonexistent, but I put in the Whiteline tranny insert bushing at the same time and the volume of every noise has increased inside. I might remove it just to see if there is a difference. I can say, any noise increase in not unpleasant at all.

Wow this sounds pretty good... How's the idle? I like a good loud lopey idle haha

Loud upon cold start. Very loud, but quickly diminishes to almost silent, which is a very nice effect. I think a loping idle is a product of engine timing, and if properly tuned with the right cam, I'm sure you would be satisfied.

On that note, I am going to TRY to make it to Cars and Coffee this Sunday to get an objective opinion from some other forum members, and hopefully they will chime in.

your convincing me that the sport axleback is the right way to go, since i already have the H pipe. I'm thinking the touring would maybe be too quiet, and the last thing I want is to spend $1k on a axleback, and not be happy.
