I am the proud owner of a brand new Ford Mustang GT and I love this car! I got a flat tire back in June at about 8:30pm one night. I went to the trunk of the car only to discover the car did not come with a spare tire. I immediately called Ford Roadside Assistance and was dispatched a tow truck. The tow company was scheduled to arrive at 10:59pm. They did not arrive until 1:15am, and then the driver, proceeded to drive my car onto and off of the side of the flatbed truck. To correct this the tow truck guy then put the car in Neutral and mechanically pulled the bed out from underneath the car, after which my car was rolling down the street with no one in it, at which point myself, my brother, and the driver had to race after the vehicle to stop it. This was my two week old Mustang GT, I was beside myself in disbelief of the quality of service Ford Roadside gave to my car. Finally at 2:30am we arrived at the Dealership. The next day the service center fixed my tire and reported no damage to the vehicle. The Dealership worked with me to resolve this issue and stated I would receive a spare tire rim and tire for my troubled service. As of 29 July 2015 I still have not received anything and the guy i was dealing with at the dealer is no longer employed there and no one else is doing anything. I contacted @FordService via twitter and for over two weeks now they have been telling me someone from Ford Roadside will contact me, yet no one has reached out.
Just wanted to warn you guys get triple A, and don't call Ford Roadside if your car is diabled.

I am going to have to buy a spare on my own since Ford is too cheap to provide them with the Car.

Sorry to see that picture. I would double check nothing got gouged or dented on the under-body.
When I bought my GT, the salesman gave me a tour of the car where I was shown the empty trunk.

I'm sure Ford probably contracts with local towing companies in your area. At the least these idiots should be taken off Fords call list.

Ford road side assistance, and AAA for that matter...just contract out to the cheapest bidder. so you are not dealing with Ford directly. Cheapest bidders generally do not provide the highest quality of service. Which is why i would use a company i am comfortable with, even on my dime.

As far as the no spare tire thing. RTFM.

Your logic is flawed. Lets say I was put in a ditch because ford put summer only tires on my car. If i had snow tires I would not have been in a ditch.

You bought the car. It's on you to understand you had no spare tire and again...Read The Freaking Manual to know how to deal with a flat tire.

Good Point, in hinesight maybe I should've known the Car didn't come with a spare. However, my last 5 cars had spares, until this i never knew most car companies have stopped putting spares into cars.

This is true. When my 2010 GT was towed I was told it would be taken to their "secure" location. Equipped with fences and such. Well, I followed the driver to an apartment complex where he parked his tow truck ( with my car on the back) in a very sketchy part of tow. So, I called into Ford then they told Ford they would take it to their "lot" which was a buddy's cheap a** repair shop in the same neighborhood no fences, security etc. So, I showed up, there was a confrontation, me and the tow truck company owner almost fought.... Called a reputable tow company had them bring it to my house then, pick it up that morning and take it to the the dealer. That terrible excuse for a tow company is now blacklisted from Ford....

I would most definitely report this to Ford. PM FordService on this forum and file a case; you should be compensated in some way. That is some crazy shite!

A few years ago I had an RV on a Ford Chassis. It came with Ford Roadside Assistance.
While in my driveway, the RV broke down. Ford sent out a RV hauler to take it to my Ford dealer. The hauler proceeded to connect the big wrecker to the RV front end without checking the front end air dam, etc. As he lifted the front end, it tore the air dam completely off. When I complained, he said I would have to have my insurance company pay for the damage, because any damage caused by Roadside Assistance hauling was always between the owner and the owner's insurance company.
I immediately called Ford and finally got them to admit that their contractors had to pay for any damage they caused.
So be warned...make sure that your emergency assistance is insured and will pay for any damage. I once saw a car that had not been secured on a flat bed and ended up with the front end smashed to the ground.

Don't the cars without spares come with a flat tire repair kit and air pump? I would not know, I ponied up for the spare tire option when I ordered the car.

As stated, whether it's Ford Roadside or AAA they call a local tow company; so they issue won't be solved paying for AAA when you already have roadside free. Just ask them not to sent that company name next time.

Second, if you dont have a performance pack, then the spare was an option you could buy for $159 or so. And it's not "being too cheap" but fuel economy issues due to extra weight is why they left the spare out standard; plus it doens't fit the performance pack brakes in the front which I'd say 50% of the GT manual drivers got, so they couldn't include it on theirs so it made no sense to make it a standard feature.

Not to sound harsh, but it's honestly not Ford's fault you didn't check the window sticker or the trunk before purchasing the car. It is wide known the 2015 doesn't come with a spare unless you buy it. You can buy one on ebay or some dealership websites for about $225 (comes with the spare, wrench and jack kit).

Idk why the dealership would owe you a free spare kit due to the bad towing of a 3rd party company.
