I've noticed on my convertible that windows go down one touch but not up. Both windows do this. Is it normal? I thought the windows were both up and down with one touch.

Hmm I thought they were supposed to be one touch up too. My 2005 was one touch down as well as up (except the quarter panel windows; they were only one touch down when you started lowering the top). On occasion though, my windows would lose the one touch up and had to be reset. I can't remember the reset procedure (pulling the battery works though) but a quick google search should yield it.

The Fastback doesn't have this issue.

take a look at the owners Manual (i do not have one yet, as i don't have the car yet)
you probably have to "reprogram" them
reprogramming should work this way:
lower the window
then: pull the knob to drive the window up. hold the knob up even when the window is completely up for 3 seconds.
should be working after this if it has the Auto up function

Yes, one of the reset procedures is something along these lines. Another involves removing power from the window which I always found to be a pain. From a Google search (This was a SB for 2005-2007 Stangs):

NOTE: WINDOW RE-INITIALIZATION MUST BE PERFORMED WITH THE DOORS CLOSED.

NOTE: ON CONVERTIBLES, WINDOWS COULD BOUNCE BACK IF THE SIDE GLASS IS OUT OF ADJUSTMENT. REFER TO THE WORKSHOP MANUAL (WSM), SECTION 501-11.

NOTE: CHECK TO MAKE SURE THAT THE DOOR SEAL OR MIRROR SEAL IS NOT ROLLED OVER OR BINDING. ALSO, THAT THERE IS NO OBSTRUCTION IN GLASS SEALING AREA AND THE GLASS FIT AND/OR REGULATOR MECHANICAL FASTENING IS NOT LOOSE.

DE-INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE

De-initialization (un-learning) of the smart window motor clears the memory of the module and shuts off the One-Touch UP, Bounce Back and Short Drop functions.
The smart window motors can be de-initialized in two (2) different ways:
Disconnect the battery cable from the battery WHILE THE WINDOW IS MOVING.
Remove the window motor fuse from the Power Distribution Box WHILE THE WINDOW IS MOVING.
After performing one of the above procedures, the smart motor must be re-initialized, see Initialization Procedure.
INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE

INITIALIZATION MUST BE PERFORMED WITH THE DOOR CLOSED! (For convertibles, top and the quarter glass must be in the up / closed position.)
From the window switch, perform the following steps without stopping:
Operate the window UP and stall for 2 seconds. (Hold The Switch)
Operate the window DOWN and stall for 2 seconds. (Hold The Switch)
The smart window motor will be initialized and one-touch-UP and Short Drop will be operational.
Cycle the window glass an additional five (5) times to set the window "Soft Stop" for the down position.
TIP - VOLTAGE RANGE OF OPERATION: 9-16 VOLTS (AT THE MOTOR)

The smart motor will ONLY function in the 9-16 volt range; if the voltage at the smart motor drops below 9 volts, the window may not function properly or prematurely stop moving
If the voltage drops below 9 volts while the motor is moving, the motor will become de-initialized (one-touch UP and Short Drop will be inoperable)
If the motor becomes de-initialized due to low voltage, see initialization procedure. for instructions

I think we are out of luck. There is a one-page addendum to the owner's manual that states that "one touch up" is COUPE ONLY. I went through the initialization procedure anyway, but no dice. I'm bummed because I REALLY liked that feature in my last car. :-(

I really hope that the OTU feature can be retrofitted somehow. OR that I am wrong about this!!

Why would they remove that feature? So strange what Ford decides to do.

It's possible it was causing issues on convertibles, may have been easier just to disable it for now.

Yeah this blows. :( I'm used to it on my Fusion. Hope the aftermarket will help us out. I also thought they were going to have a one-touch down/up for the top as well? I put one on my mom's 2006 for the top. Very nice especially how slow those are :)

Can confirm that my vert also does not have this feature, and I miss it already. Had auto-up on both front windows of my 2011 F150 and loved it.

My 2011 Shelby Convertible had auto up on the front windows. No luck on my 2015 Ecoboost. Tried initializing when I first got it. Read the owners manual, which says nothing about the initialization nor that it is for the coupe only. Sucks cause it is a feature that is expected in 2015.

I wonder if it has something to do with the mechanism that rolls all windows down when you start lowering the top? Still should be able to fit one touch up in there as my 2005 Vert had it. Having said that, my 2005 windows got screwed up pretty frequently so maybe that had something to do with it? Maybe the one touch up wasn't setting a good enough seal with the top? Who knows but there has to be a reason for it... I mean Ford wouldn't just arbitrarily remove a feature would they?:frusty:

I bet they had customers screwing up the windows by rolling them up at the same time as the top, and having interference issues. Probably bad for the seals. I hate it when they block features to protect people from themselves! At least give us an option in the menu to change it!
