Good morning all.
Problem:
Very, very cloud click/ping coming from drivers side axle area. Happens when 'changing attitude' in the car (if that makes sense), i.e. when pulling away, when going from fwd to rwd and vice versa... but also when already on the move and you suddenly give a burst of gas.
Happens about 7/10 times pulling away in the car... so not always. It seems to be getting worse. Sometimes you even get a bit of a double click. Every now and again it almost sounds like its something relieving tension, but not always.
Weve narrowed it down to coming from the drivers side axle area.
Background:
Both wheel bearings were replaced about a month ago due to failure.
Car is running on Roush V1 coilovers. I also have BMR lockout cradles.
Ruled out:
The car was on a lift at a shop yesterday. Bearings seem good, i.e. no play at all.
Main hub nuts are TIGHT!
Wheels are torqued correctly (150 lbft)
Im wondering if it could be the UJ/CV joint? The noise has only appeared since replacing the bearing(s).
Could the bearing failure have caused subsequent damage to the UJ/CV?
Ill try to grab a video today.
