To remove the symbol to make it just plain or I have to buy the plain one?

You can remove the emblem but there will be 3 mounting holes left visible. That is why the ford racing panel without mounting holes exists.

I'm pretty sure that you need to buy a new one because the stock badges are riveted or screwed into place on the deck panel.

Mask and bondo the holes (to circumvent the need for sanding), then cover with vinyl of your choice.

I have been pondering covering this plastic panel with matte clear vinyl. Takes off some of the sheen, shows less swirls. Plus protects it, i.e. replace the clear periodically.

Just spend the little extra money to do it right and get the panel. Don't bondo and vinyl over a brand new car...:frusty:

To each his own, but I guess if you had a GT why would you ever want to take that proud badge off of it? That makes the car! IMO

I only suggested it because the original panel becomes an unused spare part anyway if it gets replaced by a blank one. The holes are concealed if one wanted to change the look, such as with vinyl graphic, and the bondo is to prevent dimples from showing at the holes.

I have never heard of such modding to cars as with Mustangs, so it doesn't seem that original parts are sacred around here. ;)

I mean you could bindo the holes and wrap gloss black vinyl on top of it?
