Nothing special needed . Long extensions and ratcheting end wrenches help . 6-8 hrs for the first time . Loosen the AC pump for the front right side header nut . Don't forget to make sure the ac line bracket is clear .

Ratcheting swivel wrench. I bought them from Harbor Freight and they worked great.

If you're not re-using the original header bolts, screw the new ones in by themselves first.

Disconnect the sensor at the top, middle, rear of the engine. I cracked mine and had to order another one. I have a thread somewhere on that.

Gloves and bandaids....there are a few long threads on this. I wrote quite a few tips on those threads.

Pay someone and save yourself the pain and agony. It is gratifying at the end but I have grown to avoid those type of jobs myself . I've done all my Suspension stuff but soon as I found out i had to lift the motor I decided to pay someone. And if they break anything it's on them to fix not you. ;)

Like others said, some small ratcheting wrenches will save you a lot of cussing. I believe the 13mm was my best friend.

Definitely disconnect the sensor top/back of motor so you can jack up the engine. I swore one of the passenger side motor mount nuts was welded on lol.

All in all, i'm very glad i did it. My dad loves this shit, and i wanted to learn(couldn't have pulled it off without him). Not to mention, the car sounds and runs soooooo good.

Will i do it again in the future? 50/50 chance;)

600 was cost of install for me. Was worth it IMO. But if you get it done on your own definitely will feel good and leave money for more mods :)

Did all of you use the oil pan method to hold up the engine?

Trans jack at the bell housing. Unbolted the trans mount as well. Careful lifting it as you can crush the imrc solenoids on the back of the intake manifold. That is one way my SN197 was easier i could lift it a few inches higher and rotate it more which made it easier to slip the headers in especially passenger side. Drivers side is easy took an hour vs two and a half for the passenger side.

They're no fun but doable. Seems like some people have found a few tricks to make it easier. I followed CJPP video pretty closely and had a hard time getting her done. This was taken off of facebook from Brendan Berry..

"Drivers side is pretty easy. Remove the air box to get to everything. Remove the motor mount brackets off the motor. Don't remove the motor mounts themselves. They are not in the way.

When removing the old exhaust don't both undoing the one lead pipe. It's not needed and a waste of time.

Passenger side. Get the top front nut with a flex head ratcheting 15mm wrench. Comes off so easy. It's seriously worth the time to remove the strut bars, battery, battery box and the plastic liner for the battery compartment. Opens up that side of the headers completely.

I got the stocker out without doing that, but couldn't put the new bolts in on the upper back due to space."
