So this happened today...

Was driving behind an SUV...she signaled right and moved as if she was making a right turn onto the next street. Assuming she was, I drove forward and paid no mind. Unfortunately, without even stopping she decided to uturn at a pretty decent speed no less. I got hit so hard, my side airbags deployed and I spun out..she said she didn't see me but I'm sitting there on the curb like if you're going to make a uturn that wide, wouldnt you stop first to look for any oncoming cars? Aside from the whiplash nobody was hurt. My rear rim broke from the impact, hole in tire, and my Roush side scoop went flying as far as my damaged mods go :(

Not sure, adjuster is coming down to take a look at it tomorrow.

Something similar almost happened to me last week. There was a guy in front of me turning left into my neighborhood. He was pulling to the side of the road. I've seen many people do that and just stop there. So I started to go around when suddenly he pulled a U-Turn. I had to slam on my brakes to keep from T-Boning him. Stopped about a foot away from his driver side door. People just don't pay attention to everything around them anymore.

Glad you're not seriously injured.

People make u-turns in my neighborhood so often that it makes me sick. They don't even look around them they look at me when they are reversing. And I just shake my head! I'm so sorry. Whose fault was it? Hers or yours?

Yea, we all do it. Assuming what the other driver plans to do in the intersection.

Assuming that the vehicle that is in front of us, is turning right in the intersection, and we proceed to aggressively pass them on the left. Hay, every second of the trip counts.

In your case, the vehicle made a U-turn instead. For me, many times, they are turning into the gas station/McD's/etc which is after the intersection (they feel it makes them a better driver if they start signaling way ahead of time), and not turning actually at the intersection.

Maybe her Nav was chanting "Make a U-turn, Make a U-turn, Make a U-turn, ...." :headbonk:

She should at least be found liable due to where she hit you and the fact she was making an illegal u-turn. I bought a dash cam for just this reason.

Something like that happened to me last year too...dumb bitch signaled for a right turn at an intersection and she went for her approach and then quickly snapped a screwy and started making a u turn. She stopped in time but I was staring down the face of an X5 before I got out and went apeshit on her. I could have handled it better but got the attention of a cop and she got a ticket.

Sorry to see how bad the damage is. Real shame. :(

It looks like you have some serious rear suspension damage, too. That may have repercussions with the differential. Make sure the adjuster puts the car on a rack with a mechanic.

At the very least it's an improper change of lanes which results in a ticket which means it isn't legal :headbonk:
