When I ordered my Shelby, the dealer told me that when the car was delivered, Ford would require me to sign a letter stating that I would not export the car out of the US. Any of you that have taken delivery of your cars had this requirement?

who cares - there will be people who export after the fact - legally

ford does not want to be in non-compliance with other country regulations and therefore are making sure they can show that they did all that is required to prevent them directly selling non-compliant cars to other countries

depending on the country there are ways to import and make compliant used cars

I heard that Ford was tired of too many people exporting the Raptor outside the US so they are trying to stem the flow of their high performance vehicles overseas.

I doubt they really care. Except they have to show that they are not circumventing a countries laws and regulations

I doubt this. Like Aston Martin and other high end cars the usd is cheaper. They want to protect other markets they sell the same car in, to be imported cheaper by used car dealers.

Where larger amounts of money get exchanged you will find people in Europe buying American sold exotics because of the price difference and exchange rates. So other global markets don't get hacked by used car sales ford and other manufactures do this.

However, there are still ways to get around this clause. ;)

Each country has its own laws on importing new and used vehicles. There are no restrictions on exporting out of the USA other then proper process and documentation with our government that regulates and monitors world trade.

At least that's been my experience with USA new auto sales of high end cars were the manufacture sales the same car globally.

What is the penalty that Ford can enforce if you export the car?

Should all have that on the document everyone is signing. They come after you personally, not the dealer.

I know of a dealership in the UK that claims to be getting a GT350 in January. How would this fit in with an export ban? Additionally, Ford took a GT350 to the UK this summer.

All that means is they bought a car from someone privately who bought from ford in usa or canada

Ford shows their cars around the world not necessarily related

The loop hole in most countries if this is your personal vehicle and usually allowed to take one or two cars with you.

Safety and compliance and epa regulations in most countries are either equal or below the USA standards. Usually vehicles made for the USA tend to be able to import into other countries.

Usa is also strict when importing. Epa, safety, etc. usually extremely difficult to
Get a car into the USA and on the street, that isn't already made to USA standards. Aka the older Nissan GT-R ordeal. Other ways are to import claiming it's a race car and you are importing for a race, usually requires a high bond so you put up that money and get it back once you prove you have exported the race car back out.
