Hi All,

I was out working near my car this afternoon, and I believe my exhaust valves cycled out of the blue. I didn’t drive the car today (last time was ~24hrs earlier and the key fob was in the house), so this caught me off-guard.

Has anyone else observed this or know why this may have happened?

Thank you in advance!

Hi Don:
Mine has done that 3 or 4 times while sitting in my garage.
There is no pattern as to when it happens... the key fob has not always been with me, the amount of time since it was last driven has not been the same.

As to why it's doing it... I just figured it was trying to tell me it wanted to go for a drive!

My 2020 has also done this a time or two that I've noticed. Sounds like it's normal. I would still like to understand why/when it does it...

Interesting. I have not noticed this, but perhaps it is just keeping the valves from freezing up from minimal use. My Mercedes is working all of the time and making noises, turning on fans, etc. I have no idea what the hell it's doing. Ha!

^ Yep, always thinking for who knows why. Now if I could understand why my Phillips Flat screen keeps clicking on in the background and updating software 5 times a day, I'll have it all figured out. Maybe I'm under some kind of surveillance.
