not enough low
Why post the same thing in 2 different threads  Did you think BMR was going for the slammed look or going for the best handling utilizing the stock dampers? Sounds like you need coils my friend

Yes, we design our parts based on function and form, not just one or the other.

If we did not care about performance, I could have EASILY done what most companies do, and just call a large spring manufacture and say "I need springs that drop a car X amount, and are X% stiffer as soon as you can get them to me"

This is a performance spring that is close to OEM PP rates. Therefore, you can't just drop it down as much as you want, there is engineering behind it. If you duplicate an OEM rate, or close to OEM rate, there is only so much drop you can implement into the spring - or it will constantly bounce off the bumpstops, and/or damage your shocks and struts.

We are perfectly fine with not being the popular choice for the stance or show crowd. We cater to those who want better performance, hence the reason the stance above will be as low as we will ever go, and the reason we will not provide a progressive spring for the S550 platform. ;)

So a progressive spring will lack more in the performance category? I'm looking for something that I'd great for DD but also great for weekend hooning.

My last car was an E92 BMW lowered on coilovers. The ride was very harsh, but it was a good low stance and it handled well.

The fiancee said she didn't want to marry me anymore because the ride was too obnoxious...

These are great. She didn't even know the car was lowered when she was in the car with me for the first time after I lowered it.

BMR took their time with these springs. They could have rushed them and been early to the market but when they want to make a product they make sure it's fully tested and meets their specifications. I'm glad I waited to get the BMR springs.

Absolutely no reason a Progressive spring will not work for this. That's exactly why I chose a progressive spring. 15 million Elvis fans can't be wrong.

The majority of people buy progressive and there is nothing wrong with that.

Progressive springs work fine, they just do not work "as well"

For a performance spring, Linear is the way to go.

The only reason a progressive spring exists is because people want to have the best of both worlds (comfort and performance).

There is a reason the best performing cars use linear rate springs

Yes, you can have a comfortable Linear Spring that performs well. We have thousands of customers who do so.

You're being too kind. Progressive springs suck.

Well yeah, I agree, personally.

But, they do have their place I suppose.

On some platforms, we use a dual rate design....but the initial rate is basically used up when compressing the spring to the working height. Basically, our dual rate design on some cars is "similar" to a coilover design that uses helpers or tenders.

How much drop is there with the Performance Springs? If I buy a product, I'd like to know the specification...
It's going to vary from each car, but they will all sit the same.

On two of our PP cars, these springs dropped the car in .4" - .5" Rear and 1.2"~ Front range.

I am trying to get away from specifying the drop amounts, simply because it just causes too many issues.

Ford has a wide range for ride height tolerances on these cars, and people get very upset when you claim a spring drops 1.2" and it gets them 1.17".

I recommend people just watch the threads, and analyze the pics of the spring installed and make their choice on that. There is a good chance that many of the springs that are being used are not where they are claiming (for drop) - so it's easy to make a poor choice based on drop alone.

This is the height that we have chosen based on several factors, and will be the height we use for all of our S550 springs, as the geometry is where we fell most comfortable.

Just ordered brm springs. Can't wait till they get here. I personally believe that these springs have the perfect amount of drop based on the pics I've seen so far.
