Does cotus.ford.com not show a VIN even though the dealer can look it up? If so, perhaps I'll ping my dealer, not that it really matters, the important part is the scheduling date.

I'm guessing the key difference from what I can tell is that those in the 'stock' orders are getting dates, and those in the 'customer' orders aren't yet getting dates but should soon.

I'm trying my hardest to be patient. I keep repeating "being first isn't always best, let them work the kinks out first, then get one after they get in the flow". But that's more just to make it easier to wait. I don't honestly wish poor quality on those of you getting your cars before me.
I too ordered my Mustang on 5/20, 1st in Jacksonville FL, but I just got my VIN last week with a build date of the week of August 28th. I expect delivery in September. I had to contact FordService to get confirmation because the Ford Order Tracking website still doesn't show status. BTW, my order was submitted as part of the dealership's stock order, instead of as a custom order.

Hey Don! So on your tracker it still says "processing" as well? Who did you speak to to find out your VIN and begin date info? I'd like to contact them as well. I ordered mine 3 days after you. I ordered it with the first dealership on Wednesday 5/21. I found a better deal and cancelled and re-ordered That Friday 5/23. So I would assume I would be among the first batch.

Yeah, mine was submitted as a dealer stock order too, but no build date yet.

Send a PM to member FordService with your order number and Ford dealer code. Your salesperson should be able to also get the information from the person at the dealership who does the ordering. Since scheduling is going on now, you should be able to find out which week it is being built, even if you don't have an exact date. From what I remember when I last ordered a 2007 GT, when the time gets closer to the week, the date gets locked in then.

Thanks Tony! Just getting the VIN would make it that much more real in a way. This is my first time ordering a car. I think it's the best way to purchase if you can afford to wait. It feels tailor made for you. Because, well, it is. Haha

Here my friends:

The 10/27 is for Convertible!!!

During the 7/7 conference only 10/27 was mentioned. But the new dealer bulletin has 9/9 for Fastback:

EXCELLENT!!! I knew there had to be a good reason for the 10/27 versus 9/9 dates! Since we "learned" that the Vert would be out by EOY, this now makes PERFECT sense!

First of how did you calculate 9/15 to 10/27 as TWO months ?

Secondly , vehicle built can take up to four weeks BUT keep in mind the time it will also take for getting the vehicles from flat rock to dealers.

If Ford would purely go by "Mustang weather" , then they would've planned to release it in March.

My 2005 arrived early October ( I'm 1 hour away from Flat Rock). Most dealers got their 2005 Mustangs around 10/15-10/25 Of 2004.
Sorry about a month and a half, but the real date is 9/9 so crisis averted.

Great news!
Someone correct me if I'm wrong because I am super tired. But that just job #1 right for 9/9? Job 1 is dealer stock right? Job 2 is retail?
