Ok guys, I've been sitting on the fence about this whole "Do I REALLY need to force air into my Mustang?" thing...
On the weekend, a mate of mine took me for a spin in his Gen3 powered Monaro, complete with supercharger and water/meth injection.
Luckily, he filmed my reaction without my knowledge.
You'll have to excuse the use of language, they were the only words I had available at the time :ninja:
I think this vid makes a pretty strong case for why this is on my "to do" list...

Hey Burkey, great video.

Was talking superchargers with you a few months back. I've done some small mods to the car, but reached the limit of my expertise. Just put my money down on a Harrop supercharger, to be installed next month. Had the same reaction when we put the foot down, even more exciting in the wet!

Harrop are local to me, in Preston. They ship their kit. Just getting production up now.

Here's a link to their Mustang page, and their video on the development of their supercharger. Can't wait!

I think you'll have to do it! :)

For those of us coming from a factory supercharged coyote, the answer must surely be that it's a necessity! Personally I'm waiting for the Harrop kit to get the same OEM quality that I had on my GS ute.

Once ford starts offering the harrop kit and allows the factory warranty to be retained its the kit I shall be purchasing.

Keep hearing rumors from reliable sources that early next year this will be announced, similar to the mountune kits for other fords

And that's the one I'll be after !! But having said that , when do we use this extra grunt? , track or strip because if I get caught opening it up on an on ramp or a back street my mustang will end an 1m x 1m cube of metal !! In NSW anyways !!!!

Between 2 and 6 thousand rpm. Choose your gear - choose you speed.

It's the instant torque available that becomes addictive rather than outright speed.

I'll certainly let you know!

I'm booked in for the Harrop supercharger for 17 October. Went for a drive in their test car, the white one in the video. The kit is basically ready to go, I think just emissions certification pending. They are manufacturing now, doing installs soon and also sending the kits out for others to install.

They will be doing further work on the supercharger over the next 12 months - I'm not that technical here but I think reducing the size of the pulley wheel in increments, for a further increase in power.

They sent out an email Friday night last week indicating that it's ready to go, but I can't find the darn thing!

I dealt with Matthew at Harrop - nice young fella.

I was very impressed with their engineering setup.

So a factory ford supercharge will not be offered until the 10 speed auto comes out, so next generation. Ford are unable to get emissions over the line.

So that leaves some kits from
Harrop
Herrod
Yella Terra (whipple)

Procharger are yet to surface on a car down here

Also no mention of paxton/vortech etc

Don't forget Streetfighter... As much as I hate their marketing and general attitude they do offer a good product at a good price. $15k for either the Roush or Whipple kit fitted and warrantied is a good buy, IMO better than the others on offer.

I'm with you in that one Josh. Not entirely stoked by the marketing approach but it DOES represent a good deal if drive in drive out is the way you want to go.

I forgot about streetfighter, they just use an Ford Racing or Whipple.

Their price is arguably better than the competition, but either way these kits are far from inexpensive
