How to reset Sync 3 SiriusXM?

When my car was on trial subscription, I used to be able to see weather, live traffic etc, but as soon as I called and created an account, those features disappeared so I phoned SiriusXM where they told me my subscription included live traffic and that it doesnt need a refresh of signal on their end, its the car I need to take to the dealership. Ford showed me this and im wondering if anyone did the following before, and the big question is, should I let ford attempt, or wait it out for another solution? :shrug:

2016 Various Ford And Lincoln Vehicles Equipped With SYNC 3 And Navigation - Sirius Travel Link Fuel Prices Do Not Display On The SYNC 3 Screen

Some 2016 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with SYNC 3 and Navigation along with a valid paid subscription to Sirius Travel Link may not display Sirius Travel Link fuel prices. Replacing components will not resolve the condition and is not recommended at this time. Engineering is currently investigating. In the interim, the following steps will reset the system. Position the vehicle outdoors in open sky. Disconnect the battery for 5 minutes. Reconnect the battery and start the vehicle. Select Sirius Travel Link then Fuel Prices. Fuel price information may not display for up to 15 minutes while the system is updating.

Sorry.. I just saw this post.. the easiest way to check your current subscription is going to the apps tab and then going to the travel link and press the subscription info.. it will display what current subscription you have according to Sirius..

You are supposed to have a 5 year trial of those features.. and that trial is not tied to having an audio subscription.. so if you choose to cancel or not renew audio it is to remain.

Check and make sure the subscription status first and let me know what it says or take a pic and post so I can see then I can advise from there..

They are a terrible company to deal with..

Looks like you do not have an issue with the subscription.. because the receiver shows you have a subscription..

You say the traffic conditions are not displaying on the map.. so there are no green, yellow or red patches over the roads?

I would try to reset.. hold power and right arrow for 5 seconds.. let the unit reset..

I would do that wile with a clear view to the sky or make sure sirius has good reception.. then after the reset go to your phone and manually on sirius web page do a signal refresh on your own..

If none of that does the trick I am not sure what you could do.. I know about the TSB.. but really nothing more I can help with..

I would advise the same as OEMRadio has regarding the radio reset and sending the signal again. However, if that doesn't work, it is best that you let the Ford service center instruct further. Any local Ford dealer is fine: https://owner.ford.com/dealer-locator.html#/

Thats right the roads dont have green/red markers.

When do the reset is that the same as master reset to wipe my nav POI and such?

Not to hijack here but how did you get all these apps?

I have the Sync3 but 0 apps under my screen unless I plug in my phone then I see Spotify.
Its only on Nav units.. I could activate those..

Not to hijack here but how did you get all these apps?

I have the Sync3 but 0 apps under my screen unless I plug in my phone then I see Spotify.
those are not apps, touch apps, then Sirius Travel (dog logo) then your subscriptions will appear

I phoned sirius xm, they told me fords have an issue receiving services in canada:frusty:

heres the update: when I hold power and seek right buttons, the screen shuts off and comes back as if you turned off the engine and opened the door to power it down, then resumes back where you left off from

so say I had a destination programmed before the "reset", I hit cancel route, then perform a reset, when it powers back on the nav resumes where I left it from.. so in all it wasnt a perfect reset, just reboots the system:crazy:

maybe this is why ford says to disconnect battery which is hard reset method :shrug:

Yeah.. There is a TSB about having issues with travel link.. So you may have to wait it out.. Unfortunately..

As far as activating nav.. I can NOT activate on the existing unit.. It requires a new unit.. I can activate the travel link though.. That is not an issue..

I could.. if I had a car here to deal with.. I have not had any issues with the ones I upgrade.. as in 4-8 or MFT to Sync 3.. so.. it could be a ACM firmware issue ... I just would need to have a car.. I could fix it..

can you PM your vin to me.. I can take a look... Ford is the worst about infotainment fixes.. I already told the solution to the poor reception guys but they don't do it.. they keep waiting on Ford..

But if I could get someones active ACM here I could take a look and see...
