Hey everyone! On my 10-speed, when I put from reverse to drive. Sometime it won’t go into gear and the RPM keep climbing unless I keep my foot of the gas then it would engaged. Do you suspect the tranny has issue ?

My 2018 GT consumed about 1/2 qt of oil per 3,000 miles. That’s about 1/6 qt per 1,000 miles.

How to get the dealer to check if there is no known issue ?

My does have the 2k rattle. Oil sample came back normal. If you are worry, I would get an oil sample kit for a peace of mind

At this point. The oil test indicated the tick is harmless. The oil analysis give me a peace of mind. I’ll continue to enjoy and drive the Mustang. Will send it for next oil test to see if metal contents decrease.

I had requested the dealer to put 5w30 when they installed the new long block.

I must be lucky then. The tick is harmless per this oil analysis.

Compared with the other’s member recent oil changed at 3000 miles. His copper content was 7. My is unusually high. Iron 19 vs 24 on mine

This was from WIX “Engine wear is satisfactory for first sample.” It also had a high content of silicon, dirt!

My is high with iron (24) and copper (24) contents. Univeral averages for iron is 19 and copper 3 Iron – Mostly comes from Cylinder liners, Rings, Crankshaft, Camshaft, Rods, Valve Train, Oil pump gear, Wrist pins, cast iron components and Gears. Usually found as fine particles due to abrasion...

Oil result first 3,000 miles. What do you guys think ?

How did you get the dealer to borescope it ?

Behind the door it says build date 05/2018. When I ran the VIN for build sheet. It shows 02/2018. And second engine is dated 02/2018, too.

The typewriter is occuring on your 2nd engine ? If so, did they find any issue ?

This is the noise it make on 2nd engine. It wasnn’t loud vs previous day. Hope ya can hear it. Tell me what you think ?

Yes, it is definitely the same tick. I’ve collected an oil sample for an analysis. Hope, result is in favor.

My first motor had the tick on a cold start. It’ll go away when the engine was fully warmed up. Second motor is the opposite. It does it when the engine is fully warm up. What do you guys think ? Maybe, it is normal ?
