  1. BMR Tech Tip: Clock those bushings after lowering your S550!

The RLCA front inner bushing is almost impossible to reach with a torque wrench when the car is only lifted with jackstand on the LCA. Any suggestions? Maybe ramp is better?
  2. S550 Rear Lower Control Are Removal & Replacement WRITE-UP

Not sure if LCA bearings are worth doing for street driving, How much ride quality or NVH are sacrificed?
  3. Billet rear shock mounts - advantages?

I think this is really one of those mods that improve everything with the only downside being cost. Unlike springs, bushings etc, you always need to trade some comfort for performance. The shock mounts improve both ride and handling.
  4. Re-look at the Eco-Boost

The EB should be compared to other similarly priced sport coupes, and EB is such a clear winner. If I had a tighter budget I would take EB over FRS/GTI/whatever. It is not fair to compare EB to GT. Because for ~30% more $, GT should be better.
  5. SR Performance Springs (American Muscle)

All springs look more or less the same, it doesn't really mean much.
  6. BMR Stainless Steel Strut Tower Brace: INTEREST INQUIRY!

I think the question is, how is it better than existing offerings?
  7. 3.73 gears vs the rest?

^ how about wheel diameters? This is another "gearing" often omitted.
  8. Steeda goodies

I have most of tools too, including torque wrench and all sorts of sockets. I am weighing between pros and cons. Pros: reduce suspension binding and allow shock/springs to move more freely. This is always a good thing I assume. Cons: NVH (don't know how noticable), and installation...
  9. 2016 GT MPG LOL

So far 20,000 miles with average right at 19mpg. Probably 70% highway, but not really at 65 mph... Highway speed has a huge impact on MPG, going over 75 mph will drop mpg significantly.
  10. Steeda goodies

Yes, I already have the shock mount and all other stuff you mentioned plus the Steeda rear subframe brace. I feel all these parts made a noticable difference in handling and ride quality in the first a few days after installation. But after I quickly get used to the new characteristics in a few...
  11. Steeda goodies

I really like your build log and it is encouraging. I already have a 1/2" 250 ft.lb torque wrench, breaking bar and most of the sockets. I don't have the swivel socket though if it's a must. Do you think the LCA bearings are worth doring for pure DD and spirited driving? I don't track my cars.
  12. Steeda goodies

Like you, I also like to work on my car but the LCA bearings appear to be almost impossible for a DIY project with hand tools. Maybe someone can share his successful/unsuccessful attempt?
  13. Changing Suspension from Base to Performance Pack

I have the nonPP GT, and I started with suspension first before wheels/tires. I agree with going aftermarket, don't need to settle with PP parts unless too cheap to pass.
  14. GT Performance Package

Of course people can skip gears. I skip gears occasionally. But if you need to skip gears frequently, it is just a bad choice of gearing. It is a matter of how you use your car, why people argue what's best for other people when you don't even know how other people use their car? Any choice of...
  15. 3.73 gears vs the rest?

Agree ^^. For DD, I would prefer 3.31 to 3.73.
  16. GT Performance Package

To me, the biggest drawback for the PP is the 3.73 final ratio, too short for DD. Other parts are sweet, although you may not necessarily utilize all of them on the street.
  17. Wheel hop solutions: BMR v Steeda

Is the M-5A460-M Ford Toe Bearings standard on all GT? I have the non-pp GT.
  18. Rear spring trade? Sportlines for Pro-kit

If you only swap the rear springs with the pro-kit guy, he is gonna have larger drop in the rear than in the front. Not sure if anyone wants that.
  19. Steeda goodies

Do you think the rear is lowered too much? Also, have you tried both Koni and Pro-Action dampers? I wonder how different they are for DD.
  20. Rear Suspension Clunk After Lowering Springs/Where??

Maybe it is the shock mount binding. My car made a rubbery noise when going over speed bumps, and it disappears after I changed the stock shock mount to Steeda mount with bearings.
