  1. Steeda rattle/clunking after install

I posted my own thread. Should've been under "Issues, TSBs, Recall" section, but then I saw this thread. I have a metallic rattling in my front left quarter. Ford service says it is a bad strut mount. I have a video of a loose and rattling steering linkage, but they say that's apparently...
  2. 2018 OE Strut Mounts

Strut went at 4400 miles. Had no road impact to think of...and would remember such a bang like most of us would. Strut and strut mount (same assembly, of course) is out of stock and Ford Corporate is not sure when they'll be in stock...WTF? I cannot be the only mope with this issue. At...
  3. 1 DAY old car rattling like no tomorrow

Posted new Threat. Ford says my OE strut mounts have gone bad. Newly designed part coming out.
  4. 2018 OE Strut Mounts

Dropped off my 2018 Mustang GT (Base Trim, PP1, Automatic). Had a terrible rattle develop in front corner past three weeks. Found a rattle in the steering linkage, but alas, Ford technician says the strut mounts have gone bad. He said there are newly designed parts coming out. They are on...
  5. 1 DAY old car rattling like no tomorrow

One can always turn up the radio too. For me, I have a agonizing, and somewhat loud, rattle around the firewall, internal or external, I just don't know. I may have found it today (the washer "plumbing"). It may be "bouncing/vibrating" on very bumpy roads. Definitely flops around in the hood...
  6. Cars.com compare the PP1 vs PP2

Yes, in my opinion. I will clarify....MTs are a liability in the process/technique, not mechanically. ATs are more of a technical liability/reliability...if that's your point, I agree. ATs include hyper car trannys as well as torque converter types in Mustangs, Camaros and other, yes. But...
  7. Cars.com compare the PP1 vs PP2

I am visceral, yes (LOL). I get a little too jazzed about hit topic, I know.. And all I'm saying is note when it's style and preference, and know when it is compromising to the cause. I agree with a previous feedback comment about ATs in full auto...that's compromising. That's leaving part...
  8. Cars.com compare the PP1 vs PP2

I agree with your first comment wholly, Norm. I just don't see it relevant to my point in any measurable sense. There are all kinds of "filters" in sports and race cars. I would contend that you are not directly making the shifts happen either case, MT or AT...just more work with a MT. I...
  9. Cars.com compare the PP1 vs PP2

I agree, some people want a MT. That's not part of my debate. Again, that preference is almost just as the same as color choice...it is just preference, not performance or purity. I am saying autos are the performance choice. They don't compromise the purity...the claim of so many auto...
  10. Cars.com compare the PP1 vs PP2

And with manuals, you can install different clutches and adjust linkages, and of course these days auto blips. And surely you're not saying F1 isn't pure performance driving...which is my ultimate point. And, there are other ways to step out the rear...if one is banging a gear to do it, I may...
  11. Cars.com compare the PP1 vs PP2

I hear you. And I ain't bashing the PP2 either; I looooove that car. I am also not touting any particular auto over another. I do like torque convert trannys, like the A10, but I agree, I would prefer an automated conventional clutch. I am merely saying auto technology has a place on the...
  12. Cars.com compare the PP1 vs PP2

We'll have to agree to disagree. All you're saying then, is put a trans cooler in there. You are wholly right, they do get hotter, but that's manageable. It's not really my point either. I disagree that it is about drivability and longevity. I remember listening to Hurley Haywood talk about...
  13. Cars.com compare the PP1 vs PP2

Okay, that gag video is freaking hilarious. But here's my rub with the comparison video. The two cars have the same brakes and engine...exact same. The tire and suspension tuning is everything between these two cars. It cannot be overstated. I know they mentioned it in the video, but it...

  16. MRR M350s with 295-35 PSSs

Took a close look this weekend at the inner clearance. The front tires could not come any closer. The little "hair like" fingers used for the injection mold skim right across the strut tube. The rim protector ridge is clear of the strut...no change in front and rear with that ridge, which...
  17. MRR M350s with 295-35 PSSs

Correct, I have 19x10 on all corners (want to rotate tires). Correct also on the 40mm back spacing. Perfect for front, not so much for me in back, IMO. BUT, the Shelbys looks no different nor does PP2 set up...so I can live with it if it otherwise looks "factory" There's no rubbing. I...
  18. S650 Mustang Opinions/Predictions

My hopes: All-aluminum chassis and body (If so, my guess is body only); and a 500HP in 5.0 Coyote-derived V8. (fingers crossed)! Styling will, of course, remain Mustang-esque with the long-nose/short-deck profile.
  19. PP2 Tires???

Okay, it does stay 305s under the PP2 Info tab (in build and price), but the build and price column to the left lists different tire sizes (256/275s). Guess I should've clicked some more first. Still, Ford's gotta check that $**T
  20. PP2 Tires???

I checked out the configurator...like everyone else...and built my dream Stang, a PP2 with Recaros. However, I noticed Ford listed the tires specs as much smaller than the tires that came on 2018 PP2 cars. Only 265s up front, and the same 275s on the back of PP1 cars. Suppose to be 305s...
