I'm just trying to strengthen things, that's why I changed. Granted, the stocker only had a thousand miles on it but it looked new when it came out. You also need to look at power levels, some of these guys are headed north of 800rwhp or are already there. If you're going to drag race often or...
Went with FRPP. Probably overkill for what will eventually be a 600-650 rwhp car (550 now) but certainly some nice peace of mind. As a bonus they kind of match all the Steeda stuff in the rear, makes a nice visual with the rear wheel off.
Love mine! Lots of compliments. I don't have the cats so possibly a little louder than a catted system. I think Beefcake did a back to back test with ARH and possibly SW systems and they were basically the same power wise. For price they were actually a little more when I bought than the Kooks...
I didn't lie. I've put a Crapton of cash into this thing and I'm still most pleased by the exhaust. Just angers me that it can't be seen unless the car is on a lift. Nice piece of highly functional jewelry.
I also have the full ARH system, LT's with no cats, H pipe, with ARH mufflers. There are phone videos in the member journal section under my name. In car, drive by, standing start. Each is only half throttle but you'll get the idea. It wails at WOT! I've heard some really nice systems since...
Phase 2 is complete, McLeod RXT clutch package and steel flywheel, Barton shifter, FRPP half shafts, Dynotech 1 piece aluminum driveshaft. Also swapped all the fluids for Royal Purple. Car is still under 1000 miles. Going to have some fun with it then phase 3 this Winter.
This isn't frustrating, Since it's a car site about the worst you have to deal with are fanboys who still read and introduce a few accurate objective numbers. You just need to deal with their subjective opinions. Frustrating is my 60 something neighbor who owned a 67 Camaro SS 396 who will claim...
I chose ARH, very happy with them. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. When I bought them I think they were a little pricier than the Kooks or SW's but not by a lot and I don't know if that's still the case. I was simply impressed by their relationship with the OEM drag racing...
Are you sure he was serious? Or was it some kid in dads toy who wasn't quite sure how to launch the GTR. Stock or not he should have pulled a car length at 50 feet and then should have really pulled away. That's a high 11 second car and mid 3's 0-60.
I like mine, full ARH with H-pipe, though I thought the mufflers were called American Thunder. Very calm at cruise inside the cabin, LOUD under acceleration, no drone that I can tell. Pricey, but the workmanship is top shelf. Keep in mind the RPM's in the video stay below 4000, shifting around...
