Really like my ARH system. Headers change the sound some but it's got a nice low tone at idle and cruising speeds but really comes alive as the RPM's rise. Lots of compliments. I was at a car show yesterday and a guy with an SRT Challenger asked me to rev it a little, said he was going to order...
Yea. HP numbers are sexy and help sale the general public on product. NVH statistics and weight reduction means something to a guy like you who is drag racing and understands the importance of shaving weight or reducing drivetrain harmonics to preserve parts that are truly being consistently...
And I have to wonder how they arrive at those numbers. First, they should specify RWHP, secondly, I wish some of these companies would publish the process they used to arrive at these numbers. Reminds me of some other aftermarket vendors that claim HP gains. I'm sure some are legitimate but...
Adds no power, but the lighter rotating mass should show up as some small increase in RWHP as long as the one piece is truly more efficient. 14 sounds a little high but the current two piece with a carrier bearing I'm sure is the site of some parasitic loss. From an engineering standpoint a way...
Not sure what tires everyone has but the Michelin PSS made a large difference in mine. I had my mods done with 200 miles on the car and drove it for a few weeks waiting on wheels and tires. Even on warmer days (for March) the Pirellis were always squirrely under any moderate to hard acceleration...
I actually have a keen interest in this. Brenspeed did the first round of upgrades to my car. The Mustang in question is their shop car and they're doing basically the same mods as I have, Roush SC, Full off-road exhaust, yada, yada, yada. I'm patiently awaiting the tune to be worked out for...
Good price! I've heard positive comments on the Shaftmasters stuff as well. The only one that scares me are the random pictures of shredded carbon fiber shafts:eyebulge:
I'm using Brenspeed for my upgrades and they have a good history with Dynotech. They drag race several cars and hit them pretty hard without a problem. I was looking DSS also but with the similar price and recommendation I'll go with Dynotech.
Very nice! With the added bonus of knowing what you did and how it installed. I'm happy with my installer but a little OCD about things like this as I like to know what's there and how it all works. I've since traced every wire and hose, checked every fitting and bolt, but nothing compares to...
Wife drives an Rspec. If yours is a manual don't miss a gear, or short shift before redline. I've seen anywhere from 4.6 to 5.1 for 0-60 in magazines. I made a comment in an earlier thread that the Genesis felt stronger than the Mustang when it was stock on the initial pull if for no other...
Keep in mind these are dyno numbers, but it was same dyno same day. ARH LT's, off-road with H pipe with full ARH exhaust with absolutely no tune showed 29 rwhp gain (371 to 400). So there is something to the LT's besides noise. The reason for no tune was that the SC install was started next...
And the OEM's are actually being a little kind to the little guys when it comes to mods. Software can and often is proprietary. If I don't want you updating the car I simply withhold and encrypt all the software like an IBM or Microsoft would do with their operating systems. If you hack in I...
No entity is better positioned to corner the performance market than the OEM's. If modifications of consumer vehicles becomes large enough to merit the investment guess who will respond in force. If it were financially feasible to corner any type of market Walmart, GE, GM, Ford, Apple, Fiat, VW...
Fine, when they can make a perfect car, which is not going to happen. More "nanny state" stuff. "Cars are too complex" for anyone but the manufacturer to repair or modify. LULZ! Look at the recall record of ALL automotive companies. Apparently their own product is too complex for them to design...
Nah, wont be as many. Lets face it, they're nice cars but in 5 years you wont be able to throw a dead cat in a trailer court without hitting 3 of them and 4 Camaros.
Didn't wait. Sold the stock wheels and tires immediately and ordered new with MPSS. So far very happy. Good road holding, smooth ride, and quieter than I thought they would be.
First performance mod to the car was a full off-road ARH system with no tune. Car went from 371 RWHP to 400RWHP. Dyno runs were same day but have to be taken with a grain of salt. Who knows how much was the exhaust and how much was condition changes (in either direction). The reason for no tune...
