So at WOT an auto should be shifting at around 7500 with a 2018 IM? Also who sets the Rev limiter Your tuner or do I? I notice there is an option when loading a tune to adjust the Rev limiter??
Okay so polished is the wrong wording, what I mean is, the ported manifolds texture looks rough compared to the smooth finish of a non ported one from the ported ones that I see online
One thing that makes me question these ported manifolds is I have yet to see any of them polished. Where the non port ones are, so what does that do with air flow? Anyone have some bench flow tests?
Okay got the non ported 18 intake manifold coming. I will be using pigtails and my car is an automatic, is the VMP install vid the best one for installing this? TIA!
I talked with my Tuner and he said he uses pigtails however I would like to save some money and just use lock outs. Any real issues with using lock outs over pig tails? I've heard idle issues and drivability issues at low RPM's, etc???
Good stuff guys, I see what you are getting at. The 5.0 has plenty of power for a DD to lose a little HP and TQ down low, so normal driving, just step on it a little more if even needed. However when someone wants race or you just need to pass someone up on a two lane highway it sounds like it...
VMP stated in the comments section on the you tube link that the truck manifold and the stock 2015 manifold pretty much performed the same on dyno.
I'm not sure if it's worth it for a DD. I was thinking on getting a non ported 2018 intake but I really don't race much
Looking at that dyno graph on the shoot out vid, the stock manifold which performs identical to the truck manifold out performs the 2018 until 6500 RPM so unless you are racing it looks like a waste of money or am i missing something here?
Porting it gives you better average HP and torque. Look at the the dyno graphs from the VMP shoot out. The ported manifold HP/TQ curves look way better throughout the RPM range. Just Don't look at the peak numbers.
My question is more about how well auto mafia does the porting the manifold...
HI Joe,
I would so appreciate it if you could hook me up with my window sticker. Been trying to get it since I purchased the car last year.
