Ah ok, that makes total sense. Ive heard those guys can be strict. I might be wrong here but I'm pretty sure the headlights are different from the US version too. They are a more clear lense and also the fitment will be different for the bulbs, thats why I had to cut a notch into them to make...
Oh wow really? Did you buy the car like this? I don't belive they check the light brightness on the MOT and I know a few of the members on here are running d3s and have been for a good while. The d8s bulbs are shocking, just so you're aware!
Oh I bought a few ballasts till I got this right. I have the part number you need to look for, I'll see if I can dig it out. If you are going down this route let me know and I will get it.
I've done this and I can tell you now its the best mod you will ever do. What you need is a pair of ballasts and cables from a jag xf or similar that uses d3s and then undo the little screws and swap the ballast internals into your d8s cases. You need a set of really good d3s bulbs I went with...
Thanks thats really helpful. It just feels like it's a touch heavier on the steering and almost wants to flow the road a a little bit. It does however, feel better around corners, hit roundabout hard and the front tucks and grips doesn't seem to wallow as much and feels more positive. However...
Hey,
I just used the spacers. However, the car seems to want to really follow the road no on uneven surfaces? Have I done something wrong? The car does have a 2 point bmr brace under the bottom as well. I fitted on my drive and it isn't perfectly flat, ever so slightly decline. Can find a car...
Oh wow so it just bent to fit? I keep thinking about changing the sway bars but then I've read it's easier to oversteer/understeer and best to change them with shocks and springs?
Not so much to get more thread but wondered if it would function better being directly bolted to the strut plus it would help my ocd! Why on earth ford couldn't fit one for us I'll never know. It really finishes things off
So I dropped on the Ford perofrmance strut brace with 2 big spacers. I fitted it today and the passenger side studs don't have a lot of thread left compared to the drivers side! Anyone else used used the spacers? Debating whether to grind it to fit better.
I only use 99 mostly vpower until it jumped up 20p a litre in about a month. On momentum now. Using vpower it pulls better in 6th from 60 than regular 95. Takes a few tanks for the timing to adjust i believe.
