Texas has always required a front plate as far as I know, even in the 90s. It does not vary by location. Either way, the front windshield is the best place if you're worried about it. Like I said, I just keep mine within reach to throw in the front window if necessary.

If you read the fine print of the Ford Extended warranty they specifically say they won't warrant any Ford Performance parts, nor any failure covered by them. So, you'll be covered for the 3/36, but anything after that is a risk.

My entire neighborhood doesn't exist in my maps, and it's existed for a little over 2 years, though we've lived here for a year. So yes, it'd be nice if it were more updated as it's basically useless around DFW right now.

The safety inspections are the same Statewide. And, it'll need to be completed prior to registration. The emission testing is conducted the same statewide, but apparently only in certain counties (see my post above). It's done at the same time as your safety inspection, if required.

We did read the thread ... Even with Sync 2 you could buy official map updates cheaper on eBay from other dealerhsips. Notice I specifically said dealerships. $150 is likely MSRP. On my old EB I got a legit map update for $69.95, instead of the $150+, on eBay still in originally packaging...

I will not pay $150 for updated maps for all of the reasons mentioned. Some dealerships on eBay will likely eventually sell them cheaper.
