  1. Mt82-d4 nibble right off dealer lot?

Funny, the 2020 gt I have was dealer traded from Kitchener Ford. I haven't needed to bring it back for warranty however between the engine noise from under the DI pump and trans nibble I haven't been able to fully enjoy it yet. I've owned it for a year. No winter of course. Bought new and now...
  2. Mt82-d4 nibble right off dealer lot?

Nibble not the same as a rattle. Said nibble you feel through the shifter not necessarily audible. If Ford is willing to address it then it must be something. Was this a resale?
  3. Mt82-d4 nibble right off dealer lot

I get that as well. I can anticipate when it will happen based on the slight increase in resistance going into 1st from neutral. To avoid it i back off and re enter 1st..... It's not often it happens.
  4. Mt82-d4 nibble right off dealer lot

Blocker ring nibble is felt when the ring and sleeve clash briefly upon engagement. It's feedback through the stick shift to your hand feels like a tooth 'catching' the edge of another. It's very breif and distinctive.
  5. Buybacks

I don't think that analogy coinsides with my point. It's often posted that most coyotes are good engines but it's a gamble. If you end up with a bad one that's all that matters to you. I would buy the soda again but I'd know to look for the ice next time. The 5.0l is not that simple though...
  6. Buybacks

It only takes one defective engine to ruin a persons purchase the number of good engines that person didn't get is irrelevant.......
  7. Gen 3 Coyote Cylinder 1 Making Weird Sound

Im hoping it is the DI pump and Hp injectors. I find when I playback videos I make of my engine running it sounds worse than it is. As for the space ship engine cover it looks better hanging on my garage wall. Thanks for the post.
  8. Mt82-d4 nibble right off dealer lot

To many variables to say but the higher the rpm the better the Rev match less likely to get any feedback through the shifter. 3 to 4 thousand rpm on average city drive.
  9. Gen 3 Coyote Cylinder 1 Making Weird Sound

Listened to the video and sounds just like my 2020 Gt. Haven't taken a stethoscope to it yet to confirm. The Tsb for the diesel knock from Ford actually has a video attachment to it with an f150 showcasing the bell like clatter heard from the exterior side of the vehicle. I'm thinking ford uses...
  10. Mt82-d4 nibble right off dealer lot

Hmmm. Originally I attributed the nibble to damage but since the cars are new and when hot it completely disappeares that wouldn't make sense. Excessive clearance/end play would account for the thermal correction in a case where the trans had nibble from new. Nibble showing up over time could...
  11. Mt82-d4 nibble right off dealer lot

Wow! 10 months, I couldn't wait 11 weeks for a factory order so I bought a dealer trade. I also didn't buy what I drove 😒. So the Transmission feels good now? If it does I wouldn't expect anything to happen with it.
  12. Mt82-d4 nibble right off dealer lot

Yes it sucks, sound familiar. Since it's your first drive your going to have adapt your shifting to avoid said forcing and nibble you've described. So you didn't buy the car you drove? There may be a combination of break in and shift style. Get good then fast as they say. Allow a breath or...
  13. Motorcraft MT82 XL-18 Additive

I have 3000kms on mine and will be servicing the fluid with the motorcraft fluid and xl-18. I believe, and will be verifying this first: the D4 version has a fiction material faced blocker ring. If so the modifier aids in it ability to grab the cone side of the gear. I mainly want to see what...
  14. Mt82-d4 nibble right off dealer lot

Sadly it does make me feel better 👍because I'd rather not have it taken apart under flat rate warranty times and then possibly end up the same way.
  15. Mt82-d4 nibble right off dealer lot

2-3 shift for me as well. As far as the torsen rear end, it's design doesn't allow for much slip side to side at all so yes the tires have to give. I back out my drive and make a hard left forward and can hear and feel the tires spin just a bit. Feels proper no concerns there given the solid...
  16. Mt82-d4 nibble right off dealer lot

Thanks for the input so far. I'm relieved to hear it's not just me. I do let the transmission sync before completing a shift and it shifts perfectly under high rpm loads. When road testing 19s I didn't feel any nibble then I bought a dealer trade Pp1 2020. I drove it with early shifts to break...
  17. Motorcraft MT82 XL-18 Additive

The note in the service manual has an astrics beside it stating the additive is only needed when new synchros are installed. Take from that what you will. If said transmission is fairly new I'd be inclined to try adding it with a service of the factory fluid.
  18. Mt82-d4 nibble right off dealer lot

I'd like know how many members whom have purchased a new 18 through 20 mustang 5.0l have received it with a 3rd gear or any synchro nibble right from new.
  19. Mt82-d4 nibble right off dealer lot?

Like to ask if anyone has purchased a brand new 18 through 20 mustang with synchro nibble right out the dealer lot. Going into 3rd is where I get it.
  20. Motorcraft MT82 XL-18 Additive

In the repair manual you will find the D4 trans requires 2.7l of dual clutch fluid and xl-18 additive for new synchros as a break in aid. I've checked this my 2020. I hate the nibble into 3rd.
