Unfortunately there is no alternative that I know, switching manufactures won't resolve it.. Just the way it is, exchanging dissatisfied customers from one brand to another. It's a wash in the end.

These engines can be quiet with all those moving parts because the frequency in which they all move is so close together, the overall noise may be at a high decable but harmonious. It's when a particular sound stands out that makes it a noise in the engine not a noisy engine.

Have a look at the video attachment to tsb 20-2023. This tsb is in regards to diesel type knock. I am ALL too familair with it. Your video doesn't show case it however if you post one at idle focusing on the passengers wheel well, if it's there you'll here it. FORD SAYS IT'S NORMAL AND NOT...

Switched to Penzoil UP and it does help with the tick that I get with fresh oil.

Thanks, good to know. In respect to the BBQ on mine it to shows up after fresh oil then slowly diminishes to nothing by about 1300kms into the oil change. It makes me cringe every time I have to change my oil and get re introduced to the tick.

Before using penzoil what did you use when the tick was present?

Can I assume your using ceratec to mask the BBQ tick?

Reluctantly thinking of using ceratec but am concerned with the color and consistency. Does a bottle change the color /transparency of fresh oil? Has anyone witnessed any deposits on engine parts? My concerns are specifically regarding variable cam timing and phaser oil passage ways/screens...

Noisy ENGINES are not an issue most if not all of the time but a noise in the engine is. I say this as a tech and owner of a P. O. S 5.0. All you guys with the "noisy" engines or better yet quiet ones I envy.

Specs are on your alignment software, I guess your not doing it yourself?

Daily driver no track but good to know ford has that 1.25 drop.

I thought the Ford performance springs were only a half inch drop.
