Walking back from dropping off a dreary hired Insignia at the back of 8am this morning, a DIB GT with Grey (I think) OTT stripes cruised past on my street in the West End of Aberdeen. SX16 something on the plate. Was in a bit of a dream, so didn't clock much more :)
I need to email the dealer anyway as need a full set of mats, so will ask them then. Good idea!
At work the spectre of a spending month in Houston at the end of the year has been raised to oversee the installation of a fancy new system we are buying. Wife has told me not to worry, she can...
I've been given the 3rd October for a build date. Hopefully it doesn't slip too much. However I've resigned myself to picking the car up in January so it has 2017 on the paperwork (but obv will still be a 66-reg).
My early May order is in the system, the good ladies can see me there, but no confirmed date as yet. Hoping for an October date though. Being pushed back in some ways is bad (anticipation is a killer), but in other ways is good (planning on no finance so saving like a mofo).
Has anyone heard from the girls behind [email protected] this week? Appreciate that they will have a mammoth backlog, but just wondering. Am keen to hear if I've got an October build date!
No complaints with my dealer. Phoned a booked a test drive beforehand, and then on the day they were friendly and professional throughout. 'Er-indoors had accompanied her folks when they were buying a Golf from Volkswagen in Aberdeen, and she remarked on how much better they were to deal with...
Re locked in orders, I changed my spec 3 1/2 months after the initial order. Have a suspicion that it can't be changed after a production date is set. Ordered beginning of May, changed the colour on the 15th August, and I think I have an October date. But can't confirm as the Ford ladies have...
LOL. In my line of work I have wondered about moving into banking. Experience, money, working for myself, etc.
But those hours? Fuck that, I'll stick with oil & gas. I only want one Mustang!
That's looking fabulous.
Just as well as your initial photographs inspired me to change from Magnetic to Grabber Blue. :D
Out of interest, are those iPhone or dSLR shots? You mentioned elsewhere the dSLR is a little bit closer to true than the iPhone.
Perhaps :)
On musing over the reasons why there's a difference, I'd thought perhaps the good folks of Richmond and Twickenham are total badge snobs, where as the financially canny folks of the North East of Scotland spot a bally bargain a mile off!
NE seems to be a bit of a hot spot for Mustangs, have seen many more here than down in SW London (where I work). You would think the local dealers would clock on to this fact and get the FordStore franchise. In saying that, I'd go out of my way to avoid the Shark.
Was musing over this earlier today. Traditionally in the UK, the Ford scene has been dominated by the home-grown fast stuff of late 60s, the glory days of 70s, 80s and early 90s - with a smattering of late hot Focuses (Focui?). Any multi-marque show usually has a good representation of British...
