Just back from a few days away in the Alps... To the news that my car didn't make it across on the sailing of the 11th, but actually the 18th. Ford Logistics are now quoting (via my dealer) a December 31st delivery date. Dealer seeing what they can do, but no Christmas Mustangs for me so it...
That's brilliant news. My car is due into the dealer by Christmas Eve, I've asked nicely if they can escalate the delivery as to guarantee that date; they are working on that. Really really really hope it's ready!
Cheers, something to watch out for at renewal time. Interesting that DL have been way cheap for others too. When I first cast about for insurance quotes, back in May, the cheapest was £170 - which seemed unbelievably cheap!
Running a few quotes tonight as away on a short skiing holiday before picking up the car on Christmas Eve. Anyway, had a bunch in the £350 range, Aviva wanted £500. And then.... DirectLine, £225.... Boom! Decision made.
Fair chuffed with just over 200 notes! Full no claims, no mods, me...
Bit of a boater here, got my day skipper for yachts. Although I follow the rule of the 3Fs and charter each summer in Croatia; yachts are fucking crazy money to own, maintain and use.
Good point, looks like all the protective gear they come over with has been removed. Mine won't be a garage queen, but I wouldn't leave it outside for three months.
Plus, you could always get run over by a bus in February. And what a waste! (PS I hope you don't!)
Snap. Updated to "Delivered From" at 11.22am this morning. Surely it won't take them 2 weeks to get the car to Edinburgh! Think I'll rattle some cages next week :)
Excellent to see another GB UK-bound. And looking forward to seeing it here when she arrives.
In terms of mods, apart from winters and a charging pony decklid, I don't have any other mods planned. Decided that I want to get to know the car and take it slowly. A few years ago, I got into...
WWL hasn't been updated for me, still showing "Delivered From". Perhaps it's part of the dealer spiel, but it sounded like it's on it's way. Not sure what detail Ford's internal systems show them. As our cars came over together from Baltimore, imagine they'd be packed on the same boat to the UK?
Just off the horn to the dealer, ETA is back to Christmas Eve. Car is on its way from Zeebrugge to Southampton. And I picked it's plate. Seems like a real car now, rather than an ethereal concept and something on a computer screen.
Fingers so tightly crossed I think I can hear the bones...
'er indoors saw a black with OTT white stripes on Friday, her Mustang radar is now finely tuned. Sees more of them around the town than I do! Anyway, this spot just round the corner from the house near Queen's Cross in Aberdeen. SL66 Vsomething was the reg.
Don't have the car yet, but bought a "charging pony" decklid off NTO in the USA. Am wondering how much the UK "fake filler cap" GT decklid is worth on Fleabay. Hmm. Perhaps offer it to our American cousins as our style isn't available readily.
Not close enough for a Christmas delivery I thinks. The Mustang girls yesterday mentioned that whilst the boat was docking today, that unfortunately:
