I've had my driver side door become unlatched while driving twice now. Once before the latch recall and once after. It is not frequent, and I can't see any obvious cause (e.g. big bump, tight turn, etc.), but it of course should never happen. Both times the door stayed closed enough for me to...
Anyone have any luck using the accessory port adapter for the battery tender? Mine works for about an hour and then it seems the mustang is turning off the port, since the battery stops charging. Any way to keep that power port active so it can keep charging?
Thanks,
Peter

Check the windows and make sure they are straight and go up all the way -- they need to be dropped to do the recall and if they don't put them back correctly, they may not be going up all the way. They shouldn't have had to touch the doors. I suppose the new latch could also be badly installed...
Anyone using the battery tender cigarette lighter adapter (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0024X2SC4/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2U296R8AN80PO) with their Mustang? The power sockets appear to be active when the car is off, so I expect it should work...
Thanks all. I found the manual key latch to get into the trunk (between back drivers side seat cushion and quarter panel, just behind the back cushion). I did search the manual first before posting and didn't find this. As noted above, even though the battery is under the hood, the jumper...
I had a totally dead battery this morning after not driving the 2015 GT Convertible for about three weeks. First off, is that normal? I've had no problems up until now leaving it for a couple weeks at a time. I just ordered a battery tender (this guy...
The realignment of the window went fine on mine. Personally I don't take chances with safety related recalls - sure, the latch will likely never give you a problem, but I don't like the idea of either door randomly popping open at highway speeds. And mine did actually unlatch on a highway exit...
Had the latch recall done yesterday (less than 1 day of work). Note that the front driver and passenger windows need to be removed, and my driver window was not aligned correctly when I picked up (bumped the rear window slightly when raising and was not even with it anymore). Had to leave it...
Family road trip to Paso Robles for July 4th weekend
Took a road trip with both kids and the wife to the wine country near Paso Robles, CA this weekend. Fit all our stuff in the trunk and enjoyed having the top down as well.
I had this exact thing happen to me with my last car and I needed to get a ride back home to get my spare keys. But with the Mustang, you can't lock your keys in the trunk. If you close the trunk with the keys inside, it honks and pops the trunk again. Quite useful - except when your wife...
Never mind, it turns out that if you wait the 20-30 seconds for the steering column to lock, this also prevents the truck button from working. In fact, the car chimes and displays the "Switch Inhibitor" message if you try and release the trunk without the key on you. Despite the indication in...
Noticed the other day that the garage door opener (I've got a premium GT) doesn't work with the car off and locked. This is good news for us convertible owners since it means we can leave the top down in our driveway without worrying someone will reach into the car and open our garage.
But...
Yeah, and manual + convertible is even more rare. Before I got the Mustang, I stopped by a BMW dealer and asked if they had any manual BMW M235i convertibles. He wasn't even aware they made those (they do).
I like manual so much I may have ditched the convertible requirement (and I really wanted a convertible) if I couldn't find a manual, 4 seat convertible. Fortunately my wife drives manual too (and always has) so no issues sharing the car there.
When we use the Mustang to drop our kids off...
Indeed, while I wanted a convertible, I needed a car that was a functional family mover as well year round. While our primary family car remains the Prius, the Mustang does regularly get used for all 4 of us (slightly more fun than the Prius...). I'm actually surprised at the space available...
I didn't start out wanting a Mustang - I started out wanting a convertible. I also wanted 4 seats and a proper trunk so I could use it to take my kids places and we could use it on a road trip. I also wanted a manual transmission.
Surprisingly all of those requirements (convertible, manual...
My GT (Premium/Convertible) rear view camera was fixed last week - they said the problem was the wiring harness in the trunk. You can see when the trunk opens and closes there is a big bundle of wires that folds open and shut. I guess it is easy for that constant flexing to cause problems (or...
