I never realized how often the A8 short shifts. 1st gear goes to 5500 RPM and second to 6000 it looked like. Takes pretty decent advantage of its torque curve. Lot better than the current mustangs A6.
GM can keep the performance bump with that price increase. My price range is mid to upper 30's on new cars right now and I would prefer to have leather and GM took the camaro out of the equation for me.
Yup. I know it's GM's policy to have engineers there because the car is pre-production, but the fact that they were riding around with RP and allowed to access it and possibly make adjustments makes me trust no one. I give no one the benefit of a doubt nowadays.
I wouldn't. It depends on the 1LE's new tires. IF they're better than the MPSS on the GT350 base than I can totally see it. I think the 1LE has the weight advantage and torque advantage. On shorter tracks I can see the 1LE keeping up or besting the GT350 and on longer tracks the GT350 winning...
I understand. The point i'm making is having engineers there. I know its GM's "policy", but did BMW have engineers out there? I know MT will claim that no kind of special tuning was done to the 1LE, but who can we trust? They road around with Randy. I'm not saying they did modify it in anyway...
So it sounds like this car shouldn't have been in this years contest then. I know most will say that nothing happened and no advantage occurred from this, but I no longer give anyone the benefit of a doubt.
Doesn't the Z already have the rear seat deleted? CF wheels are about it. Maybe a CF driveshaft. I'm just helping out Hack's point. The 5th gen Z28 is maxed out for the most part. Definitely not the case for the GT350R.
It's also using forged aluminum wheels and what seem to be really good tires. Some are saying the F1's are better than the MPSS's. Tires are crucial and one of the most important aspects of it. This does show that maybe the GT350 might be overpriced, but then again I don't know what the cost of...
The ecoboost mustang already gets 31 MPG why, which matches the 2.0T camaro despite the camaro's 200lb weight advantage. Imagine it with the 10 speed. I could see it getting an improvement of 2 MPG in city and hwy. This new transmission will really help the mustang and should pretty much make...
There's definitely something in the works for an upgraded Voodoo motor. We've already seen the info on it. It was one of the motors that will be carried on and receive an upgrade, according to that UAW info that was posted a few months back.
There should be an improvement HP wise somewhere in the future. We already read about the memo talking about the engines seeing updates and the Voodoo was listed. Are they making a 18 MY GT350? Maybe an update there when they update the GT?
