I think he's simply saying that when the equipment is equal (Tires and whatnot) the mustang and camaro are neck and neck. I would agree. There is no doubt though that as of right now from the factory the SS has the advantage over the GTPP.
I think what he's trying to discredit is the praise...
I think simply upgrading from the shitty Pzeros to MPSS would help the GTPP match the SS performance or atleast come within a few tenths. The Goodyear F1 numbers are pretty close to MPSS at the moment.
I've said it before. The Pzero tires on the mustang are crappy. My sister's 2015 MKC has the 2.3L and the 20 inch wheel/tire package and it comes with Pzero summer performance tires @ 255/40/20. A lincoln CUV is rocking the same tires as a "Performance Package" for the mustang. I bet simply...
I guarantee you that if you simply throw on some better tires you'll break the 3:00 minute mark easily. The tires simply suck on the mustang... badly. My sister's 2015 MKC has the 20 inch wheel package and it comes with 255/40/20 Pirelli PZeros summer performance tires. A friggen Lincoln CUV has...
Thats because they take advantage of the weak yen. It's something a lot of domestic car companies have complained about in the past. It's also one of the reason's why Ford doesn't support the TPP.
The 1LE is pulling 1.1 and greater G's in the corner, which means those tires are putting in work and gripping pretty close to cup2 tires. So I think it safe to say that the 1LE is pretty closely packaged to the GT350R, minus the CF wheels. I'm not at all surprised by its performance and the gap...
No one should be surprised by the results. The 1LE is pretty much running the same equipment as the 350R minus the CF wheels, but it holds a slight weight advantage. The HP difference is what is giving the GT350 its win over the 1LE right now. It's impressive. I would even say the 1LE has better...
I'm fine with the Pzero's as a base tire, but if Ford wants to be serious about any kind of performance package it needs to be something way better. At the minimum offer MPSS for the tires on the PP or a TP, otherwise we'll keep getting bashed by the 1LE. I mean it looks like the V6 1LE is right...
Yeah the GTPP is incredibly undertired. I mean it looks like the stock Goodyear run flats are equal to MPSS's. I'm sure these supercar G:3 tires are running close to Cup2 tires.
Fortunately the mustang shares those costs with the F-150. It'll see a small price bump but not much and will still undercut the camaro by a few thousand.
Still these prices are getting out of control lol.
DI, coupled with the 10 speed means the mustang is back in it when it comes to performance. It'll probably still be undertired but as long as its still quite a bit cheaper than the camaro that won't matter.
The economy hasn't fully recovered yet and eventually its all going to take a dump again. Subprime loans are skyrocketing for everything. Lack of regulation of the market has led to wall street bundling shitty loans again and selling them. Inflation, coupled with lack of raises, and the desire...
There is no proof that that the higher ATP's relate to the Camaro distinctly. GM has been talking about raising its ATP's across the board, and we've seen that with their price increases, but it has yet to break down individual ATP's for each model. This is just something Camaro6 is spouting off...
