  1. Any dyno graphs with Comp cr Stg 3 cams?

RevAuto dyno tuned it and did the cam/opg install.
  2. Any dyno graphs with Comp cr Stg 3 cams?

It's because of the limiters and the tune. Both killed power down low. On the S550s you don't have to run limiters. The curve would look MUCH better down low. Again, don't run the limiters, LOL. Avoiding limiters will dramatically increase the low end from what you see in my old dyno. A friend...
  3. 2015-17 Mustang GT Ford Performance Power Packs

I can't really tell much of a difference from stock aside from more dramatic engine braking. I've turned the tune on and off a few times and sometimes I have to rev it to 7200 to remember if PP1 is loaded. It's fine, just not super noticeable to me. For a few hundred more, a tune/handheld...
  4. Any dyno graphs with Comp cr Stg 3 cams?

Here's one from my S197 with limiters. Don't use the limiters, lol. 460whp = FBO 500whp = Cams
  5. If you wrecked and totalled your Mustang, what would you replace it with?

1SS Camaro with 8AT, Magnaride, and NPP exhaust as only options. Beater (used Abarth, Fiesta ST, etc.) to wait and see if 2018 5.0 is worth it (10AT, Magride, active exhaust and PP). I'd buy the '19 model year. Too many changes for me to trust the first model year. Nothing else really jumps...
  6. 2015-17 Mustang GT Ford Performance Power Packs

My verdict after a few months with PP1: SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GET A REAL TUNE INSTEAD Not worth it ... not even for the warranty conscious people. Just stay stock.
  7. Euro NCAP Crash Test

Got it: 1) Don't sit in the back seat 2) Euro NCAP cares a lot more about collision avoidance tech than I do I think the title of Unsafest New Car for Sale is a little excessive. For example, the Challenger/Charger did worse than the Mustang in the US tests. Wonder how they'd be received if...
  8. 164 mph

With a stock rpm coyote, 3.31s or 3.55s are ideal. 3.73s need rpm to make sense. Shifting into 5th at 115ish is just silly as is shifting into 6th at 142ish. 6th is an OD gear with very little acceleration. One wants to avoid making that shift for as long as possible. kapiteinlangzaam, what rpm...
  9. 2018 Mustang GT Revealed (Video)!!

Aside from better visibility, and a little more interior space, the one trump the S550 had over the 6th gen. SS is looks, and that was questionable (I don't mind the new Camaro styling at all). Now we've given that up as well. Fantastic. No 10-speed and DI will be enough to get over how...
  10. 2018 Mustang GT Revealed (Video)!!

Looks awful. Glad I got my '16.
  11. Bama Tune vs Stock...

I never understood why so many people were obsessed with Bama on the S197s. Well, I suppose it's the same as with Lund on this platform: marketing.
  12. I rememeber the days when catbacks were affordable

I do agree that most of the offerings are pricey. IMO, a catback is the last thing on my list. Ford also made doing certain mods harder this gen. Cutting for axlebacks, cat on the manifold, no x/mid-pipe section. It's annoying. The previous gen. sounded great with an off-road x with GT500...
  13. Northeast Ohio s550's

Hi guys, I'm from Cleveland area. Planning on going to one of the local drag strips in the spring. Went to Thompson at the end of least season.
  14. 500RWHP NA

You lost me with this one. Horsepower is a function of torque (torque*engine speed)/5252. My S197 made 500whp/415wtq. It made a higher tq peak number than when I was FBO, and held higher upper rpm torque as well. Cammed cars should have no issues showing peak tq above 400wtq.
  15. 500RWHP NA

A lot of people ignore efficiency when planning their setup. That can be suspension as well as driveline. So many people throw on a blower and forget about a driveshaft, clutch and flywheel. From street runs, my car picked up about 3 car lengths, when bolt-ons only, from an RST, driveshaft, and...
  16. 500RWHP NA

As mentioned, the Comp Cams have been around for a long time and got a fair amount of use in the S197 cars. 500whp N/A is very possible for the S550 as well; one just needs to use a CJ manifold or port heads. Obviously, the supporting mods have to be there as well. They don't feel short when...
  17. 500RWHP NA

I had Stage 3's with limiters and yes it lost low end, but drove just fine
  18. 500RWHP NA

If you replace the motor mounts, you can fit a CJ setup. Get it ported (guy on SVTP does a great job), run the monoblade and an intake, and you're on your way! That setup + headers and a clutch made 460whp on my S197 and 470-475whp on my buddy's Boss. I picked up 40whp from cams (Comp Stage...
  19. 12.096 n/a street tires

Good to know. I'm also shocked you're not seeing bad wheel hop. Any in the burnout box? Everyone keeps saying these half shafts will break like twigs on an MT82 car.
  20. 12.096 n/a street tires

Good point. Did you see this benefit before the headers as well? Meaning, I don't recall headers on my S197 shifting the powerband up.
