  1. Confused about Lund tuning

Not necessarily stupid but this is just the words of Alex. I'm sure Lund Sr and Jr don't think that but they did feel it was best to do away with the flex fueling to alleviate customer complaints they were having with it. Example being my situation, I was on flex tuning for a couple weeks to...
  2. Confused about Lund tuning

Lund tuned myself. Basic answer is no more flex tunes. Comprehensive answer is no more flex because the average joe getting his car tuned couldn't follow directions accurately enough and/or just didn't understand the process. So now it's simply run to 0-miles to empty or a little more, and...
  3. Headers and No Tune….Safe?

As it has already been stated, the PCM will adjust to the increased airflow. The only place a tune for headers may help is with slightly increased timing since more scavenging reduces in-cylinder temps.
  4. Intake Cleaning for Direct Injection 5.0

😂 Not if your running e85. I checked my diy catch can the other day, holds about 8oz of fluid. Since running e85 all winter it had about 2 Oz of oil and maybe 4oz of water. I can't be sure of the miles but it's only been a couple of months since I last emptied it.
  5. Intake Cleaning for Direct Injection 5.0

It looks like 3k at really low loads. I've noticed in mine the 2k rattle happens at high vacuum situations so basically low load. I think it's vacuum related because when it happens I can get back on the throttle slightly and it stops.
  6. Intake Cleaning for Direct Injection 5.0

https://www.enginelabs.com/engine-tech/efi/how-does-dual-fuel-work-on-a-gen-3-coyote/ I questioned the validity of what they stated at first until I used forscan to watch duty cycle on both pi and di noticed while normal driving the di wasn't even being utilized. I had to really put my foot in...
  7. Intake Cleaning for Direct Injection 5.0

Not to mention according my own datalogging and graphs found online, Gen 3's only start using DI at 50% engine load and higher rpm's a lower loads. So anytime your cruising on the highway or accelerating lightly PI is mostly being used.
  8. Cars you regret buying

1995 Pontiac Trans Am. Traded a slightly wrecked 01 Mitsu eclipse and an ATV for it. Engine had shoddy work done to it with a LT4 Hotcam, aftermarket valve body in the 4L60e and 4.10's. Was a fun and decently quick car compared to what I was used to and I was excited as it was my first v8...
  9. What is the Fastest Speed You Have Reached, and for How Long?

Around 138 in mine. Couldn't believe how stable and smooth it felt at those speeds.
  10. engine question - tachometer

Intake phasers is my vote. I have the same issue.
  11. Gen 2 auto or gen 3 auto

Personally, id go with a gen 2. The 6r80 will hold up better to FI. Not to say the 10r can't be made to hold the power but at those whp goals, I doubt the 10r will live a long life.
  12. Random rough idle and stalling

Here is an image of a datalog I took with forscan showing the intake phasers losing sync. Here is a datalog I took after applying 12v power to the intake vvt solenoids in a clicking fashion to free the phaser valves. Notice how rock steady the graph is afterward. This shows startup at the...
  13. Random rough idle and stalling

First thought is VVT phasers. Tell your tuner that you suspect it could be the VVT phasers falling out of sync, this happens on the intake side during idle. AFR's will bounce around and at least on my '19, the indicated manifold vacuum will go haywire as well. It happens randomly for me and...
  14. So my area of the state now has troopers in s550's

In my area Huntsville has a 15-17GT donated by the local Ford Dealer with their name plastered all over it among the PD markings. We also have several unmarked plain f-150's, i've seen one with a camper shell and a few without, various colors no markings and standard issue state tags. Then...
  15. Anyone Know what OEM Manufacture Stereo Amp is in 2019 GT 9 Speaker?

I was wondering about that. Only Amps that would maybe fit would be nvx vad series amps if they aren't too tall. No way my Arc ks300.4 is going under the seat in an S550.
  16. Anyone Know what OEM Manufacture Stereo Amp is in 2019 GT 9 Speaker?

AFAIK, the B&O 12 speaker is just a rebranded Sony. Not sure about the 9 speaker amplifier. Either way if your replacing the whole sound system, remove the factory Amp. I use a dsr1 for my signal processing and amplifier integration.
  17. 2018 GT Spark Plugs "Wore Out" After 900 Autocross Runs and 40k Miles

Check out the crater in the ground strap on an 86k hwy miles 19. I changed these out last weekend. Remember the oem Ford plugs have an iridium center electrode but the ground strap is not iridium and subject to wear as standard copper plugs are.
  18. Thick vs Thin Oil for type writer tick

i used 5w-40 in mine for the first oil change I did. it was ticking before and still ticks now. Drive it like you want to meet jesus and dont think about it. The coyote isn't a simple pushrod LS engine. 4x the camshafts, 4x the timing chains with eccentric shaped timing gears that cause the...
  19. Highest mileage Gen 3 coyotes

I feel more comfortable knowing the PO likely ripped it every single on-ramp he came across. If it were going to fail, the weak link would have shown itself long ago. Was very well taken care of though. Carfax was 5 pages of oil changes religiously every 5-6k miles at the same place.
