Most typically, for 18+ the stock filter housing and tubing will flow as much air as the engine can ingest and will actually provide cooler air from the front grill. Put your favorite brand panel filter into the stock housing and it's all you'll need.

FWIW, PMAS has an add-on that moves the filter down into the fender away from engine heat. If you drive in particularly wet areas where water tends to stand, might not be the best but definitely the best chance at getting cooler outside engine bay air.

It has to do with fastener size and material stretch needed to achieve it's rated camping force just like a rod bolt etc. Look at the recommended torque values for a m14x1.5 bolt. It's 215nm for a grade 10.9. That's 158ft lbs.

No update. Still gathering the necessary items. Ordered the m-6004-a5018 complete timing kit so everything is being replaced.

There will be a small very slight vacuum from the venturi effect at WOT on the clean air pcv port and slight restrictions from filter, intake elbow ect, but on an n/a application, no real vacuum between tb and filter.

I only think the e85 contributes to the water vapor. I sure seemed to have alot more exhaust steam on cold mornings with e85 vs gas. Either way, the caught water vapor from the crankcase tells me the oil is getting hot enough to drive off moisture.

The moisture staying in the can is the intended purpose. It caught oil Vapor as well but since the can was far away from heat sources, excess water vapor from e85 was also condensed and not allowed to enter the manifold. It filled up with about 6oz of water in about 2 months and maybe 750 miles...
