Whatever radar detector you decide on, make sure you search the radar detector forums on how to fine tune the sweep ranges. I used my V1 for two years and it was a noisy SOB, but once I used some common custom sweeps it's been a lot more quiet.

This was pretty common with the Focus ST also, the factory gap was off or the plugs were too hot from the factory. A lot of guys were regapping or replacing them with one step colder on a stock car or two steps colder with a tune.
