The GT550 for the S550 is pretty much full "hot rod" at this point. There are a few little details I haven't even figured out yet. So I don't have a comprehensive plug...
There will not be complete kits available until next spring. Right now the only option is to buy the manifold and then collect the rest of the parts needed to finish it yourself. Think of it as "Hot Rodders Kit", not a "bolt on".
Bolt on will be next year.
It's in the tune/transfer function. I'm not a tuner so I don't know the nuts and bolts of why. I do know that those numbers aren't right an the S550 has a known IAT sampling issue though.

It's easy enough to do the math. It's 10mph max. And that's that's based on the FREE FLOW rating of the fans. Not what they actually flow when pushing through a core.
It's probably a safe bet that I have done more heat exchanger/pump/IC/IAT testing than anyone. I know exactly how this stuff...

Lund got us hooked up. We were having some issues with IAT's not reading correctly so we installed two dedicated IAT sensors/gauges to work against. Lund (using the Ngauge) got it sorted out pretty good. There is still a little bit of data discrepancy between what the PCM...
Unless you live in the Arctic your IAT's get that warm all the time. If you're not seeing those numbers your IAT's are not reading correctly which is a known and common problem with some S550 tunes.
Another reason the "Heat-Ons" are an issue on the GT500 is that the GT500 intercooler is not very good. You get a completely different result when you plop a M122 on the best intercooler in the industry, the GT550 manifold/intercooler. Even if you do over-spin it.

Or just get a start up/drive tune from your tuner. But the short answer is yes, you can drive it without it being completely tuned.
Or do remote tuning with Lund and never visit the dyno.
The octane limit, not the limit of the hard parts. On a stone stock motor with stone stock exhaust running a safe tune and not spinning it past it's redline and at full operating temp.............................yes.
