Except, a Shelby variant would have to perform better. As in, every 'special' version of any car ever made. If Ford put out a Shelby Mustang that was nothing more than a badge package they would be roasted for it, and rightfully so.
Mustang GT PP2 is every bit as descriptive as Camaro SS 1LE..
But yeah, it's absurd to think Ford would de-badge the GT350 / GT500 and sell it at a discount. They have no incentive to do that.
Again, see standard ZL1. More liveable and still extremely quick - hell, it beat the 350R lightning lap time. I know, not same day / same driver etc etc.. but those arguments don't seem to matter when the PP2 beats the SS 1LE time :like:
Fully agree.
I get that it's just the M6G roundabout way of saying the ZLE sucks because it's not 'fun to drive'. But that's also why the standard ZL1 exists.. so you can get something almost as fast without the punishing ride. Ford made the choice to stick with Magneride on the 350R. It...
I made the assumption that 'what you've read about people attempting to daily drive ZLEs' was focused around the rough ride due to it being, you know, a track car with specific Multimatic dampers and stiff springs suited more for the track. Maybe I was wrong on that, but I still stand by my...
I think he's trying to argue semantics.. but if you look up the definition for vent:

Just about all of I-90 is boooring. If you're taking the northern route, you'll be driving past the black hills and badlands in western SD. Beautiful scenery and plenty of touristy trap stuff, especially in the black hills. South Dakota Air and Space museum ouside of Rapid City.. and of...
Have an actual source that shows GM 'made up times'? Tried a few different google searches but the only faked time discussion seems to be about Lambo.
Of course, it's not like there's a video of the ZLE laptime..
Copying everything but the sales figures
Well, at least they didn't copy the poor handling chassis, the generic looks, the bbq tick, the 2k rattle, or the oil consumption..
Why did you post a ford fusion with a mustang badge stuck on it?
I mean, FFS guys pretty soon you'll be saying it has headlights and 4 wheels so (insert car here) totally copied the mustang!!!11!!!!!!1! Of course, if you all think the Camaro copied the Mustang on the redesign it...
If I had enough money to comfortably afford a GT500, I wouldn't have a problem paying a (reasonable, 5k or so?) ADM. It's just one of those 'gotta pay to play' things that comes along with wanting to have the new hotness.
Who really wins in the Mustang / Camaro war? The consumer! It's insane...
Since no one wants to quote the actual brochure..
At least that's what was posted here.. it's a bit ambiguous. First it sounds like the standard GT500 has 11.5" rear wheels, then they say the track package has .5" wider wheels but still 11.5".. so who knows? No where that I've seen has...
Uffda. The 1LE is parked in the garage and will stay there until the first good rain next spring. Last time I drove it was on Thanksgiving, and with the 35* temps there may as well have been ice on the road. Winter time is for the Xterra with 4wd..
Serious question - is there any suspension geometry difference between the GT / GT350 / GT350R? From a short browsing of the track forum here it seems like it's tough to get more than -2* of camber on the stock GT suspension. I know the Camaro likes to eat front tires at less than -2*.. I was...
