I'm pretty "meh" on the s197s, but I will always love the SN95s prior to the new edge. However, I will probably pick up a 4.6 s197 as my track car. I'd love an SN95 cobra as my track car, but the s197s are just so much more capable.
The difference is volume. Touring has a resonator, which reduces volume, while sport does not. Levittown seems to have the best price on this system. PM them on these forums. This is one I'm looking at, as well.
I have an occasional clunk with mine - did the same as you, checked the subframe bolts, diff bolts, had them all backed out and clocked - didn't help. The other day I was taking a closer look, and it looks like my driver's side rear spring rotated a bit in the seat, so it's not quite lined up...
I used both, but it was a PITA to get it all back together. YMMV. Car definitely feels more planted with this setup. I installed both at the same time, so I can't comment if the inserts made much of a difference. I also did the diff bushing inserts at the same time.
To be entirely honest, I don't believe the Mishi IC is good enough. My EBM was showing high IC temps on that - it's better than stock, but for not much more, there are better options. I don't have the car anymore, but based on my experience, and looking at things like ATM, Full-Race, and Levels...
They can survive, but I went from DWS06 to actual snow tires after my first snowfall of the season... Made a huge difference - YUGE. This late in the year? Probably not worth it, though. :p
No problems in the snow in my GT with winter tires, even going up hills. It really is all about the tires. I've said it a million times - my mustang with snow tires does better than all my Subarus did with all seasons - stopping, starting, and turning.
Any idea how the touring axle back would sound with a resonator delete x-pipe? I have the stock mufflers with the resonator deleted, and looking for better sound.
My fiance can't drive a manual, but she doesn't complain about my car being manual. She has said she's willing to learn, but not on my car - she's afraid she'll break it, lol. She said if I bought her a little beater with a manual, she'd be happy to learn on that. So after our house closes, I...
