Yeah itd be nice to have two sets of downpipes, a race set and an inspection compliant set. Swapping before inspection would be easy on a low mount like LPF or BW. Here in southeast VA, all we have is visual and OBD readiness. A tuner and turbo fabricator should be able to make that work, at...
I was gonna go Borla at first, but dropping all that money and getting rollled exhaust tips that don't fill the cutouts was not an option for me. I wanted a fit and finish as good as the sound. The Krona is the real deal.
Base stereo on 14 is very easy to hear. In fact since getting this system, I often turn it down and roll down the windows to hear it better, no lie. His title describes the Krona perfectly, "The best exhaust you've never heard of." Also, he's catless in that video, yet it's still got great tone...
Man I've been wanting to make a tunnel blast video! Anyone that's familiar with the hampton roads area knows there's no shortage of tunnels around here. Your car sounds great!
You're talking about the silicone induction hose for the stock box, correct (can't see the pics)? I know you like the no-tune gains of the hose, but I'm just curious as to why you'd try to adapt it to the GT350 maf/airbox. Despite the hose being no-tune, you would still need to recalibrate for...
Like I said before, it's similar to a pro-chamber. However, there's a few inches of packed resonator on both ends of the crossover section, which is a wide open chamber. See my master MS Paint skills below for a better idea.
I think the name and logo are very appropriate considering the company background. Krona is the Swedish currency, and before the Mustang they worked with Saabs primarily.
I don't want to get away from the purpose of the thread too much, but anatomy of the vocal cords and how that relates to...
Correct, the only sound absorption material is in the center muffler. Instead of doing a crossover followed by two bottle resonators, both the crossover and resonator are combined into this one muffler case. Without it, you would be left with straight pipes and Helmholtz resonators.
I'm sure the Borla sounds good, haven't heard it in person though. I just can't get past the single wall tips on their systems. Dual wall tips in 4.5" look best on these cars, IMO.
Yeah it's not cheap, but neither are systems like Corsa or AWE. Plus, this exhaust isn't like a Flowmaster or Magnaflow system, which are really just mandrel bent piping and universal mufflers welded together. Krona's construction and finish are top notch.
I wasn't completely sold on that idea when I read it before either, but it's true. Something was off with the AM mic setup when that video was recorded. triggered's video is a lot closer to the true sound, but I think the mic still cracks some during the revs. No offense triggered. I know we...
The AM video is missing out on a lot of the sound. I think their mic is struggling, especially on the tip zoomed view. Really, it is so much deeper and throatier in person. At low rpms, there is a lot of the hollow reverberating (not drone, think auditorium effect) exhaust tone reminiscent of...
With all of the exhaust threads that I’ve seen in this forum, I’m surprised that there’s never been a Krona review thread. I just installed the Krona cat-back today, and no matter how much driving I do, I can’t shake the urge to just go out and waste gasoline. It’s that good. Before I get ahead...
