  1. Besides Raceseng who makes great weighted shift knobs for S550’s?

I haven’t purchased anything from this company, but have seen others suggest them in the shift knobs thread https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/official-6g-shift-knob-pics-thread.24067/ https://www.shiftsolutionsco.com/
  2. 7000 miles and I finally learned to shift my car

The Steeda spring is definitely heavier. I recently took mine out after 3 months to continue comparing the two, and stock is less annoying in stop and go due to the lower effort. However, more on the OPs specific topic, the Steeda spring did improve my ability to drive a manual since I had to be...
  3. Barton Two Post shifter bracket

Nope, you just need some extra patience and a few extensions to work around it. I got my car up fairly high on jack stands so I could lie on my back and be able to put both hands into the install area. Getting the OEM bracket off was a little annoying. There is a retention clip on one of the...
  4. Opinion on this on a 2018. Ford performance short shifter, Barton 2 post Bracket, Steeda Bushing.

I agree here, either get a bracket and see if that’s enough or go all the way. Middle ground isn’t the best return on investment for this problem area in my opinion.
  5. Opinion on this on a 2018. Ford performance short shifter, Barton 2 post Bracket, Steeda Bushing.

The Steeda is also a whole replacement part, see this photo https://acdn.americanmuscle.com/i/226514_CF011BAD.jpg The Barton I believe is more stiff than the Steeda part, but either should do a lot to minimize deflection of the shifter body. That misalignment to the transmission is what causes...
  6. Opinion on this on a 2018. Ford performance short shifter, Barton 2 post Bracket, Steeda Bushing.

When I searched for the part your referenced in your first post, I got the following https://www.steeda.com/steeda-s550-mustang-shifter-base-bushing-bracket-kit-2015-all-555-7092.html which is really the bracket, even though they call it a bushing. That would be the either/or vs the Barton 2...
  7. Opinion on this on a 2018. Ford performance short shifter, Barton 2 post Bracket, Steeda Bushing.

I’ve had the 2-post bracket on my ā€˜18 for about 4 months and haven’t had a nasty shift since the install. Eliminated the need to muscle the 1-2 shift at high RPM or during harder turns. Changed the car for me and delayed me spending 4x the price on an MGW. Also, it would be incompatible with...
  8. What did you do to your S550 Mustang today?!

Complete clean: all interior, wheels/paint/glass wash, clay bar the entire car, spot compound/polish some bad areas, full wax, and tire mud. It looks better than new. Have not yet filled all the paint chips or polished the paint entirely (used car) to take out all the swirl. That’s a job in...
  9. Barton Two Post shifter bracket

I’ve had this on my ā€˜18 for about 3 months and haven’t missed a shift since the install. Eliminated the need to muscle the 1-2 shift at high RPM or during harder turns. The bracket in this thread is a trans mount but doesn’t fit the 18+ unfortunately...
  10. BMR vs Steeda low profile jacking rails

I ordered mine from American Muscle and it took a little over a week total. They’re frequently out of stock (I was checking twice a day til I saw them available), so I’m not surprised they haven’t shipped yet. I’m really happy with them though, it’ll be worth the wait.
  11. Official S550 Mustang Owners Registry

Just bought today and I can’t believe it yet. Used 2018 GT Premium 6MT with 12104 miles. Shadow Black with black package, 401a with Midnight Blue leather, shaker, enhanced security package, and active exhaust. Just in time for winter.
