I had thought I was going to make mine dual purpose, Auto-x/Time Trial at least, but if I keep her, it’s just Auto-x for this year, then re-assess for next year. You guys should really check out the wilwood stuff. Even the track stuff is lighter, and the weights are all easily accessible for...
I have no idea how to remove the ABS unit and even that you could. If I did the front brake swap, it might make sense to do that then?
I’m going to make a decision on the brake upgrades after the South Texas Tour.
not sure if anyone saw one of my original posts, but this is what a(my) base...
I'm taking a hard look at the Wilwood Drag front brake setup as well. It would be useless on track, but for autocross, should be enough, and could be another 50lbs, some of it unsprung and rotating weight, off the front.
It's all throwing $$$ at it. If you want to know, the best $/lb is the...
It’s a bit of a guess, and it doesn’t include heavier parts I’ve added, like sway bars. We’ll know after the Beeville tour.
Terry Fair weighed it at 3595 when brand new, and I’ve subtracted from that, from the “what things weigh” thread. I have a spreadsheet with OEM vs replacement part...
Was his a performance pack ? I think in 15', the difference appeared to be around 150lbs starting out. I still have my carpet, front wheel liners are gone. Lexan windows adds 150lbs to your minimum weight, if I remember correctly ? That bumps his min weight to 3450. I'd guess I'm right around...
Went to the test and tune in austin, and the car was a lot of fun. Considering the last time I ran it, it was on eibach sportlines and stock shocks, and new-to-me (dead) 275/19’s it was an entirely different car. It stuck pretty well and I’ll hang my hat on one, one cone run that was about a...
So... guess I'm all the way in. Ordered seats today, and registered for the Beeville Tour. Test and tune this weekend, and a club event the weekend before the tour.
It will be interesting to see what a pretty stripped, 2015 base with race battery, rear seat delete, race seats, and a magnaflow...
Yeah, SoloStorm was high on my list. I was leaning that way. Are you going to be at the test and tune ? I'll bring the shock tower tool, if so. It cut like butter. super easy.
Anyone swapped in one of the aftermarket android screens to run data acquisition or anything like that? Mines a base, and I'm thinking about an upgrade to an 8" screen, but haven't decided which Data acquisition to run yet.
Seven-ish years later and here we are, all fixed up from an unfortunate foray into a wall while on bad tires and finally ready, or almost ready for action again. I'll post some pics of the damage and fix eventually, when I can figure out how to convert the stupid Apple HEIC formatted pics I was...
What are peoples favorite Rain tires/sizes ? Building up a second set of wheels. I don't know what others do for rain, but I'm going to go smaller than the 315's.
Finally... registered for the April 30th SASCA/SPOKES event. Tires(Falken 660's), Braiile battery, camber plates, new brake pads, Front hub/arp kit, and Apex spacers, on the way. I haven't been on course since 2015 Nats. Should be a hoot, but hoping I haven't forgotten everything I used to know...
Reminds me how much I'm going to relearn how to drive. I registered for a SASCA event, in my Z4, even paid, then couldn't go due to some issues with my SUV I had to handle. My build is put off for a few months again, due to finishing a Solar powered Art studio and tool shed for my S/O, and...
The big spindle nuts were actually both loose this time. Not sure why or how that would happen to torqued nuts. Maybe I need new fasteners. This is the second set of suspension I've installed.
I've had some problems with the Pedder's upper camber adjustment slipping and found it had again, and I'm apparently not very observant. When I corrected it, the flow2 18x11 et 52 fit fine on the front with 25mm spacers.
Now I have a set of 2 10 1/2" Et 52's I probably don't need. They did fit...
Ahh, I thought someone had said they had run the pedders. Any idea what a Clunking sound on one side could be? I haven’t taken it apart yet, but can’t see what it could likely be. Wondering if it’s the spring isolators, as they have almost 78k on eibach sportlines.
